Talia Joy Castellano lost her battle with cancer, after being named a COVERGIRL in September.

CoverGirl has paid tribute to their youngest cover girl ever, Talia Joy Castellano, after the 13-year-old died yesterday following a six year battle with cancer.

CG issued an official statement, saying “Talia Castellano was the meaning of a true COVERGIRL. Please join me in sending love and honoring her memory.”

They re-released the photo above, honoring the CoverGirl poster, which was unveiled last September when Talia appeared on Ellen.

It was Talia’s popular YouTube make-up tutorials that saw her become a CoverGirl, following in the footsteps of stars including Drew Barrymore, Taylor Swift and Pink.

She received her professionally shot advert from Ellen DeGeneres – another representative of the cosmetics brand live on TV.

‘I’m shaking I love you so much!’ the 13-year-old exclaimed as she met with the chat show host, just a month after revealing that she was battling two cancers at the same time.

The news of Talia’s death was announced via Facebook yesterday.

A message posted by her mother read: ‘It is with a heavy heart that we share with all of you that Talia has earned her wings at 11:22am. Please lift her beautiful soul, her beautiful light to heaven.’

Such a sad ending, hopefully her family can find peace…

Introducing: The Newest COVERGIRL!

I am officially old now. I had no idea who Becky G was prior to her being announced as the new COVERGIRL. I checked out her videos and I really like her, she reminds me a lot of the female rappers from the early 90′s. Well now I am in the know on the most tubular talent all the kids are dancing to at the sock hop.

Introducing the nueva COVERGIRL! The Brand has signed emerging young talent Becky G as the newest face of the beauty brand. An accomplished singer, songwriter and rapper (at the age of just 16), Becky G will add her own unique street style to bring beauty, beats and COVERGIRL confidence to every block. Born and raised in the Inglewood section of LA, the Mexican-American superstar’s lifelong ambition has always been to stay proud of who she is and where she came from.

Becky recently wrapped her first COVERGIRL shoot and will be appearing in national TV and print advertising for the brand this summer.

“Becky G is such a relatable and powerful role model, who, from a very young age, has advocated individualism and paying respect to where you come from and where you want to go,” said Esi Eggleston Bracey, VP and General Manager, COVERGIRL Cosmetics. “She’s a smart, motivated and strong-willed young woman who knows exactly what she wants to do in life, and it’s that attitude that the COVERGIRL brand loves about her and identifies with. Becky is a star on the rise, and we’re excited to welcome her into the COVERGIRL family.”

Becky G’s musical style is all about creating trends and rocking a unique flavor in her fashion and beauty looks. As the first chapter of her COVERGIRL story, Becky will be joining the brand to celebrate beauty, beats and “confianza” in every girl, on every block. In the months ahead, Becky will debut many looks from the brand’s new collection, including ones featuring the fired-up, volumizing COVERGIRL Flamed Out Mascara. Rocking the mic, her lips and nails will be in the spotlight showcasing COVERGIRL Lipslicks Smoochies Lip Balm, providing a hint of sheer, beautiful color; and COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Brilliant Glosstinis, which are mini versions of Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in tropical, glossy colors perfect for summer.

REVIEW: CoverGirl Clump Crusher by LashBlast!

So here I am, out of my favorite go-to mascara LashBlast by CoverGirl, and so I headed to Safeway to pick up some more (NO, I do NOT get all my makeup products at Safeway, but if you’re in a pinch – you do what you gotta do – okay!?). I noticed this green tube next to my orange tube – and realized I’d never tried this one before! So I grabbed it up!

Here’s what Cover Girl has to say:

Clump Crusher by LashBlast mascara delivers more volume with zero clumps for beautifully separated lashes. Clump crusher’s innovative curved brush features a lash loading section to saturate lashes with loads of product and fine-tooth comb bristles to evenly distribute mascara.

My feelings on the matter. It’s not a terrible mascara, but I wouldn’t buy it again. The brush is so small, IMO, I have to apply 3-4 coats to get it to look the way I want it to. I feel like the “Clump Crusher” aspect of the mascara is probably what I don’t like. It hardly gives you any mascara at all to work with! I want it to actually LOOK like I’m wearing mascara! There are probably PLENTY of women who only want to look like they’re wearing a thin coat of mascara – and if so … this one’s for you. But if you’re like me, and you like a thicker, more visible coating of mascara, pass on this one.

Bottom Line: I’m stickin with LashBlast – the original!
