Keira Knightley stars in a new Chanel commercial that the Advertising Standards Authority in the UK has deemed too inappropriate for television.
In the latest Coco Mademoiselle commercial, Keira strips down on a bed and shares some “intimate” moments with a photographer.
A complaint was filed after the ad ran during a broadcast of “Ice Age 2″ — not quite pandering to an audience that’s willing to shell out $105 to smell pretty. Thus, the final ASA ruling released today prohibits this particular Chanel commercial from running during children’s programming.
I agree the commercial below shouldn’t be appearing on children’s channels, but I don’t really thinks it’s worthy of “banning” across the board. Watch it below – what do you think?
Supermodel Gisele Bundchen has just been named the new face of Chanel Beauty’s Summer 2013 campaign. According to Vogue:
Bronzed and enviably fresh faced, Gisele Bündchen looks every part the Chanel woman in her first campaign for the fashion house, shot by Mario Testino.
Due to launch in Australia on May 12, the Les Beiges collection will introduce Chanel’s new line of mattifying compact powders.
Gisele is the perfect person for the job! The gorgeous mother-of-two has never looked better, in my opinion. She looks great with a lot of makeup, and of course she looks beautiful au’ natural as well! Congrats!
In other Gisele news, today she shared a picture of her 2-month-old daughter Vivian Lake. It’s our first look at the supermodel’s little girl!
The supermodel posted this picture of her cuddling her two-month-old little girl, saying “Love is everything!! Happy friday, much love to all.”
Gisele, 32, gave birth to Vivian, back in December. It’s her second child with husband Tom Brady. “Vivian Lake was born at home on December 5. She is healthy and full of life,” she said at the time.

When I heard that Brad Pitt was going to be the face of Chanel No. 5, my first thought was this is GENIUS! Brad Pitt is sexy, no doubt. But could the 48-year-old actor compete with the likes of Nicole Kidman and Marilyn Monroe as the face of the classic women’s fragrance?
Now that I’ve seen the commercial, I’m not sure anymore.
Chanel is touting the Pitt campaign as “the perspective of a man on the most feminine fragrance of all time.” The company previously released a few teaser videos of the actor posing odd questions to the viewer, including “Do you feel lucky?” and “Are you going somewhere?” Ugh, whatever, Brad.
In the commercial just released, Pitt, who reportedly nabbed $7 million for the gig, looks more like he wandered out of a dive bar in Brooklyn than the chiseled stud we saw years ago. “The world turns and we turn with it,” he muses in black and white, “but wherever I go; there you are.”
If you think it’s all a little cheesy, well, you’re in good company. “TRY NOT TO LAUGH WHEN YOU WATCH THIS!” howls one commenter on the YouTube version. “Bad hair, bad style, wtf?? do i see a goatee??? Horrible taste… and btw, why use an [American] to sell a French product?” writes another.
But LOL-worthy lines aside, Brad’s good looks are still working their magic on at least one charmed lady. Writes one commenter:
“The things he says makes no sense whatsoever. But his eyes. OMG.”
I’m not a fan of the commercial, but did I watch it twice? Yes. I think part of the reason this commercial bugged me – is I reeeeeeeeeeeeally don’t like his hair long. He looks so much better clean cut. I’m not a fan of his hair like this.
Earlier this morning I covered a story from E! News, claiming Brad Pitt was being named the new face of Chanel No. 5, and now we’re getting the official press release from Chanel confirming the news!
Chanel has released this “official” image of Brad Pitt, confirming the deal.
Ooh, la la! C’est Brad! Brad Pitt’s famous mug has landed him a major deal unrelated to blockbuster films — a spokesmodel deal with Chanel.
“Chanel has selected world renowned actor Brad Pitt to be the face of the upcoming advertising campaign for CHANEL No. 5,” the brand said in a release.
The Chanel deal mark two firsts: it’s the 48-year-old actor’s debut beauty spokesmodel gig and the brand’s first time having a man represent its famously iconic women’s scent that launched back in the 1920s.
Pitt follows in the footsteps of Nicole Kidman, who starred in the short film No. 5 The Film in 2004 and Audrey Tautou who has held the spot as the scent’s visage since 2008.
Now, let’s all gossip about how much money Brad will make off the deal. You KNOW it was well into the 7 figure range. I can’t wait to see the print ads!
