Katharine McPhee’s stunning makeup from last night’s “Christmas in Rockefeller Center”

I watched “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” last night on NBC, and one thing that stood out to me (more than the strange music video starring Justin Bieber and Mariah Carey) was Katharine McPhee’s STUNNING makeup. Once I saw it – I knew I HAD to have it.  She wore this gorgeous nude color eyeshadow that glittered, and it looked so glamorous. Not cheap looking at all! She topped the eye shadow with a thick black eye liner, and the look was beyond gorgeous.

I knew I had to figure out what she was wearing – so I took to Twitter – and it looks like I’m not the only one who was asking! Her top tweet read: “4 those who asked abt my eye shadow last nt…my makeup artist explains…”@Beau_Nelson: She’s got pretty sparkly eyes courtesy of@CHANEL

Her makeup artist continued; “She also has pretty matte rose lips by @JoeFreshNY and black liquid liner by @COVERGIRL. And can we talk about her beautiful skin? @shuuemura nobara stick! My favorite! Shimmery love lust blush from @tomford finishes the look.”

I went digging further and found that Katharine is wearing Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Fantasme. It is GORGEOUS. I’m ordering mine now, have to have it.

This intensely shimmering long-wear eyeshadow offers true versatility. An innovative gel texture that is both soft and cushiony allows it to be worn as eyeshadow or eyeliner. Includes a specially designed shadow/liner brush, developed specifically for this unique formula.

Blake Lively says NYC made her trendy.

Blake Lively says she has a better wardrobe since living in New York.

The 23-year-old American actress has become an international star thanks to her role in the hit US teen drama Gossip Girl.

Blake enjoys the perks of starring in the popular TV show, which follows the lives of a group of stylish youngsters living in New York. The star says her wardrobe is far more impressive since appearing on the glamorous series.

“None of it is mine. It’s nice to play dress-up, it’s like being a little girl and putting on make-up and outfits. I grew up in Burbank [California] and I love living in New York City so much [because of the shopping] and I now have a way better wardrobe,” she said in an interview with British newspaper The Independent.

The beauty plays Serena van der Woodsen in the popular show, and is often compared to her charismatic character. Blake says although she wears the same kind of clothes and lives in the same city, she is rather unlike her fictional character Serena.

“I wear pretty clothes and live in New York so people think I’m very similar to her; they see her talk and interact in their homes once a week and they probably assume that is who I am, but it’s not me,” she explained.

Would you wear Chanel’s Feather Barrette?

Chanel has begun selling a selection of their popular haute hair pieces at some of their botiques.

Karl Lagerfeld’s handmade stone, metal, and feather-spiked barrettes were clipped over the base of runway model’s long, straight ponytails during last season’s Chanel show.

According to Vogue:

The monochromatic statement piece shown above seems destined to plunge its beholder into a fit of fashion ecstasy via a swath of wispy black-and-white plumes, CC-strung chains, and signature black tweed. With its ability to make even a simple white tank and slim-cut silk pants look instantly party-ready, it’s as worthy a Fashion Week investment as spring’s retooled pastel tweed 2.55 bags. Now that’s practical magic.

The barrette above is available for only $2,500 at select Chanel botiques, or if you can’t wait – you can call 800-550-0005.

Happy shopping! :)

Check out a teaser for Keira Knightley’s new Chanel commercial!

Keira Knightley gets ready to promote Chanel in the video teaser for the Coco Mademoiselle fragrance.

Dressed in a nude catsuit and helmet, the 25-year-old actress climbs onto a Ducati in the fragrance’s latest ad.

Knightley teamed up with her ‘Pride & Prejudice’ director, Joe Wright, last September for the short film that will debut March 21.

“Nobody said exactly what it was going to be like,” she says in a voice-over in the video teaser. “I knew that it was something about a motorbike, and I knew that it was going to be beige. They said, ‘Sort of catsuit,’ and I said, ‘OK.’ It was completely unexpected. It’s a Chanel superwoman, I think.”

SEE IT HERE! Blake Lively debuts Chanel ad!!

Blake Lively is the new face of Chanel, and here we have our first look at her debut ad!

WWD had a chance to ask the actress how she got into fashion to begin with.

Her mother, Elaine, was a fashion model who fronted a Hanes campaign and teamed up with her daughter to make dresses. “We’d always go down to the garment district with my father. We would go to really cool vintage stores or boutiques and we’d get a bunch of clothes and we’d sew a lot,” Lively recalls.

Yet the actress says she has no ambitions to jump into the melee with a project of her own.

“I have such a respect for fashion and such an appreciation for it that if there are people like Karl Lagerfeld out there designing, who am I?” she asks. “I want to bow down to them and be a representative for them if they’ll have me.”

She also told NY Times that she was always holding out for Chanel.

“I had other opportunities and I would say, ‘Thank you so much, but I am holding out for Chanel.’ That’s who I want to be the face of. And people would say, ‘Well, that’s unrealistic, they only hire Europeans,’ and I said: ‘Well, how great. I’ll be the first then.’”

I think she’s gorgeous. Do you think she’ll make a good Chanel model?

It’s Official: Blake Lively and Chanel Collaboration

From ElleUK:

Chanel has confirmed that the star of it’s next ad campaigns will be Blake Lively.

It’s been something of an open secret for a month now but now we can officially confirm that Gossip Girl star Blake Lively has been picked by Karl Lagerfeld to be the new Chanel ambassador.

Lively is set to star in ads for the new Mademoiselle bag, and the pictures, which will be unveiled in April, have already been snapped. The actress-turned-model got to pose on the iconic staircase in Coco Chanel’s Rue du Cambon studio – and, according to WWD, she was pretty thrilled by the whole experience. ‘How did Cinderella feel when she slipped on the glass slipper? How did Snow White feel when she met her Prince Charming?,’ she gushed. ‘Dream come true is an understatement. I can say that I feel like the happiest, luckiest girl around.’

Blake’s appointment hasn’t come as a great surprise – ever since she was first spotted front row at the Chanel couture show early last year, she and Karl have struck up a friendship, and she’s also been spotted in an impresesive line-up of the label’s dresses. What with this and her friendship with Christian Louboutin, we could find ourselves getting quite envious of the lucky Miss Lively…

Chanel To Sell Runway Inspired Temporary Tattoos

chanel2.jpg

Temporary tattoos are no longer just fun for little kids. Chanel has decided to launch Les Trompe L’Oeil de Chanel Temporary Skin Art, a line of temporary tattoos based on designs created by Peter Philips for the Paris Runway Show for Spring 2010.

These intricate designs have proved themselves successful on the runway. From necklaces to bracelets and all the way down to anklets, these tattoos are an interesting way to not-so-permanently brand yourself with the much appreciated Chanel logo. And at $75 for 55 designs, it’s a more affordable way of showing brand loyalty… at least, while it lasts.

And at $75 for 55 different designs, this is a recession-friendly way to wear Chanel this spring.

Tell us: What do you think of this new trend?
