Your complexion is the envy of every beauty editor I know. Please don’t tell us it’s just good genes.
People are going to hate me for saying this, but I really don’t have a regimen. I don’t use a lot of products because my skin is so sensitive, though I always wear sunscreen, usually Chanel and Dermalogica. I try to eat healthfully and hardly ever drink alcohol. When you eat the right things, you don’t need that many products.

Well, I’m gluten-free. A bunch of people in my family have celiac disease, so I stopped eating wheat about a year ago, and right away I noticed a difference. I’m also vegan; I basically eat only fruits and vegetables. I’ve never felt better than I do now.

Let’s talk hair. Your jet-black strands and blunt baby bangs may well be in the Pinterest hall of fame for “aspirational cut.”
We did short bangs for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, but it was when they grew out that people really started to like them. As for color, I’ve been lighter, but I prefer being brunette. I find that people with dark hair don’t need to wear as much makeup.

Professional pluckers tell me they get dozens of requests for “Rooney Mara brows.” Are they high-maintenance?
They’re actually no-maintenance—that’s why they’re so prominent!

It’s not every day you see Rooney Mara smile – almost seems unnatural, doesn’t it? We’re used to seeing her in dark roles like ‘Girl With a Dragon Tattoo’ and ‘Side Effects.’

Rooney was named the face of Calvin Klein’s new fragrance, Downtown.

The commercial is set to “Runaway” by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and is directed by David Fincher, who worked with Mara on TGWTDT.

She looks great in this commercial, doesn’t she? Very Audrey Hepburn.

FIRST LOOK! Rooney Mara for Calvin Klein’s new fragrance, Downtown

Calvin Klein has cast Rooney Mara as the face of its Downtown scent, which hit counters globally in September.

“I am very excited to be included in the group of amazing women that have been featured in the iconic advertising campaigns for Calvin Klein fragrances,” Mara told WWD of her new role, which includes TV spots directed by David Fincher and print ads shot by Jean-Baptiste Mondino (pictured above). “It’s an honour to be part of a brand with such a legacy of breakthrough advertising.”

I think Rooney is the perfect pick for this campaign. I think she’s gorgeous!

Alexander Skarsgard named the new face of Calvin Klein’s fragrance ‘Encounter’

Calvin Klein announced today that ‘True Blood’s’ sexiest vampire, Alexander Skarsgard, is the face of their new men’s fragrance Encounter, WWD is reporting.

The print ad (above) will be accompanied by a TV spot, both of which will break in September and both of which will costar the lovely Lara Stone. Steven Klein shot the campaign, which Skarsgard described as “very film noir,” and marketing guru Fabien Baron gave creative direction. Encounter will hit department store counters in the U.K. in late August, followed by a September global rollout, and is priced between $40 (for 1 oz.) and $72 (for 3.4 oz.). It will have “top notes of mandarin, cardamom and rum.” Yes, rum.
