Beyonce launches new line of temporary tattoos!

“With a Sixties-pinup-girl meets-futuristic-biker-chick theme, Beyoncé and I really wanted to give our Deréon fall 2010 campaign a tough edginess,” said Tina Knowles, Deréon’s founder, creative director and designer. “We decided to invite Temptu to help us create custom body art for her to model with our fashions. The resulting images were so strong that we realized consumers might want to re-create the tattoos themselves.”

The tattoos will be available on November 1 (you can get on the wait list by going here), and will come in deluxe or basic packages. Designs will include Dereon’s signature fleur icon, rocker bolts and chains, jewel baubles and spider designs. They will be waterproof, and will last 2-4 days.

According to WWD:

The basic kits contain eight temporary tattoo transfer sheets with two each of the four designs; 10 tattoo application pads and one of three kit designs, each featuring a different image of Beyoncé, shot for the fall/winter Deréon ad campaign. The deluxe edition includes everything in the basic kit, as well as a signed photo of Beyoncé and a chance to win a trip to New York for a photo shoot.

The basic kits retail for $16 and will be available at Sephora stores in the U.S. and Canada, sephora.com, temptu.com and dereon.com. The deluxe edition, $34 and limited to 500 pieces, will be available only on temptu.com and dereon.com. A waiting list is being taken at dereon.temptu.com. Industry sources estimate the line could do upward of $200,000 at wholesale.

Contest Winners! Smart Cover Tattoo Cover Up!

Fox Business News features the latest trend in short-term tattoo cover up. SmartCover.com, a New Jersey-based online cosmetics brand, has one of the hottest beauty products on the market today, a temporary tattoo concealing crème.

Tattoo cover up has grown in popularity as more Americans need the ability to conceal their tattoos in the workplace while flaunting them after hours and on the weekend. Smart Cover®’s concealing crème is the perfect quick fix at a price most Americans can afford. At $29.75 for a ten-piece starter kit, Smart Cover Cosmetics offer a better option than costly procedures to remove tattoos.

Smart Cover is the official “camouflage” make-up for the cheerleading teams of the NFL’s Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals and the NBA’s Cleveland Cavalier Girls. They use Smart Cover because tattoos aren’t allowed to show while in uniform.

Smart Cover was created by Nancy and Flori Roberts. Flori Roberts was the creator of Dermablend and is a leading authority on corrective cosmetics. Academy Award nominated makeup artist, Christina Smith, uses Smart Cover on many of her celebrity clients including Liza Minnelli, Jane Krakowski, Jamie Lee Curtis, Gena Rowlands and Helen Mirren.

According to Smart Cover co-creator Nancy Roberts, the concealing crème can be used to cover more than just tattoos. “Our unique concealers can also be used to hide dark eye circles, birthmarks, varicose veins, spider veins, age spots, acne blemishes, and much more,” explains Roberts. They are also allergy-tested, waterproof, and recommended by dermatologists.

The Smart Cover starter kit offers several different shades of concealing crème, from light to dark, so that anyone can use them to mix and match to create their perfect shade. A color corrector is also included in the kit to neutralize the deep tattoo pigment first, allowing the concealing crème to cover completely and blend seamlessly into the skin on the face and body.

In addition to the Smart Cover concealing crème, the company offers a complete line of skin problem solutions for everyday use, including finishing powder, bronzer, anti-aging treatments, fruit enzyme cleansers and more.

Heidi Montag Regrets 10 Plastic Surgery Procedures

It was not that long ago that Heidi Montag shocked us all by undergoing 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day and now it looks as though Heidi might be regretting her rash decision.

The reality TV star is almost unrecognisable after she had a chin reduction, boob job, a nose job, neck liposuction, brow lift, ears pinned, cheek implants, butt implants, lip fillers, botox and liposuction on waist, hips and thighs. Eek!

And according to Heat magazine Heidi is regretting it already with a source saying: “She’s thinking about a plastic surgery make-under now that she’s separated from Spencer. He was the one who wanted her to get the work done. She knows she went too far, and she feels stupid.”

10% Federal Tax on Tanning Starts Today!

Beginning Thursday, a new federal tax on indoor tanning goes in effect to help pay for health care reform.

The new tax is on tanning booths using ultraviolet bulbs. It does not apply to spray tans or tanning products.

The tax was a last minute addition to the Health Care Reform Bill and replaces a 5 percent tax on cosmetic surgery that was originally included in the bill.

Booth tanners are feeling more than burned getting their faux glow.

“I love the sun,” said Marcia Dellvenari. When she can’t follow the sun, she heads to Sunset West Tanning in Beaverton, Oregon, five days a week. “It helps my mood.”

Dellvenari is seeing red over a new 10 percent federal tax she’ll have to pay to help pay for the $940 billion health care overhaul.

“I think it is ridiculous,” she said.

For salon co-owner Keith Dixon, the new tax could be just the thing that drives him out of business.

“We’re barely making it in this economy, because that’s one of the first things to go on your budget — tanning or getting your nails done or whatever” he said.

Dixon lowered his prices so the tax would not be noticed by his clients.

“Our prices have stayed the same. But, that has also made us lose income” he said.

Health care professionals like dermatologist Dr. Kristen Stevens hope the new tax is a wake up call.

“For most people who are really serious about tanning I don’t think that’s going to stop them,” said the physician based at Providence hospital. ” We need, as the public and as physicans, to help people understand the damage they’re doing to their skin,”

Seventy percent of indoor tanners are young women, the same population that has the highest rate of melanoma.

“The World Health Organization recently declared ultra light coming from tanning booths as carcinogenic,” Stevens said, “placing it in the same category as asbestos, and plutonium and tobacco smoke.”

She hopes adding the tax will change the way society looks at tanning.

“Natural is the new tan,” said Stevens.

Introducing Ta-Ta-Toos!

Tons of celebrities have tattoos and while some aren’t surprising, others shock you like Kelly Ripa who recently got her husband’s last name inked on her inner wrist, or even 16 year old Miley Cyrus who imprinted “just breathe” under her left breast. There is a common perception that “tramp stamp” chicks are more promiscuous then others, but how can that hold a smidgen of truth when Ripa, talk show host and mom of three, sports her own tatt proudly. With more people making the move to indulge in some sexy body art but not quite ready to make the permanent move, Ta-Ta-Toos let you “fake it ‘til you make it” in an stylishly intelligent and intimate way.

Treated like a personal greeting card, ta•ta•toos are temporary tattoos, worn on your “ta•tas,” that relay sentiments in a fun, intimate and original way. With collections covering a multitude of occasions, ta•ta•toos send a message that may be temporary fun, but will undeniably create permanent memories.

Collections include bridal/anniversary/weddings, special occasions, risqué, just for fun and birthdays, with messages such as “Feeling Lucky,” “Naughty/Nice” and more traditional options including “Let’s Celebrate”, “Guess What I am Pregnant” and “Happy Birthday”.

So what I want to know – is would anyone actually use these? Aren’t tattoos on the ta-tas kind of… you fill in the blank.

Would you use these?

Available at GBS, The Beauty Store locations and online at www.gbsbeauty.com.  For more information on ta•ta•toos, visit www.ta-ta-toos.com.
