A great choice she is so gorgeous, and has kept herself out of trouble unlike a lot of her peers.

Blake Lively becomes L’Oreal Paris’s new faceThe rising American actress, who shot to fame in her role as Serena in hit TV series Gossip Girl, will become the latest face of the French beauty brand, joining Cheryl Cole, Claudia Schiffer, Jennifer Lopez and Beyoncé and newly signed model Lara Stone. “I am thrilled and honoured to join the incredible women who represent L’Oréal Paris. From the versatile and multi national brand ambassadors, to all the women who proudly wear L’Oréal Paris each day,” said Lively.

Classic Californian looks aside, and just as Karl Lagerfeld hand picked Lively as the face of Chanel’s Madamoiselle bag for her stylish charm, L’Oréal Paris say they have chosen the 26-year-old because she “embodies all the modern codes of Hollywood glamour. She is flashing a substantial swath of upper elegance and sensuality,” said Cyril Chapuy, brand global president of L’Oréal Paris. The beauty house haven’t confirmed whether Lively will be fronting hair, make-up or skincare campaigns, but instead have hinted their new face could be a muse for all three; “she has become a beauty icon for a whole generation with her gorgeous gold-dipped hair, luminous gaze and drop dead smile,” says Chapuy. Whatever they choose for Lively, they can rest assured she’s been practicing her lines: “I grew up with the inspiration of their message; ‘We’re worth it.’ What an important value to instill in women. That beauty is rooted in confidence. That is key. That is why I’m so proud to be a L’Oréal Paris woman,” she said.

Blake Lively admits “I have no stylist.” Good for her?

Blake Lively lands the September cover of Lucky Magazine. Notice anything different about the cover? Lucky Magazine got a revamp, under Anna Wintour who was named Artistic Director for Conde Nast. The cover looks much cleaner and more eye-catching if you ask me.

Blake looks great. On the cover she admits, “I don’t have a stylist. I trust myself.” Most of the time I think she looks pretty great, but other times I think she looks like a hot mess. Now that she’s a married woman, I think she looks better somehow…. Must be that arm candy husband of hers.

Here are a few quotes from the interview!

On her husband’s style: “I’m very lucky to be with someone who has better taste than me. We influence each other in different ways.”

Her style changing after getting married: “I was recently asked how my style has changed since I got married, as if I was living under some sort of dictatorship. I should hope I dress differently at 25 than I did when I graduated high school. I hope I never stop changing.”

Marrying Ryan Reynolds was immediately gratifying: “With film and TV, you don’t see the results for months. Building a home, you get immediate gratification.”

Happy wife, happy life: “Work is important, but my greatest passion is my personal life.”

She has “princess days”: “That could call for wearing something totally inappropriate. Like a beaded purse and a gorgeous pair of crystal heels just to go to the grocery store.”

She’s so beautiful!

She is simply gorgeous, a beautiful photo shoot with Allure for the Best of Beauty Issue out today!

Lively is skilled at evading questions about her romance with Ryan Reynolds, whom she married a month and a half after our interview. “I’m a very shy person,” Lively says. “I can be outgoing, but I’m also very private.” However, she does—perhaps unwittingly—reveal some clues about her life. “I’ve always wanted a big family,” says the actress. How many does kids she want? “Oh, I’d love 30 if I could,” she says. Here, Lively poses in a tulle dress by Marchesa.

Lively’s down-to-earth persona is genuine. “I don’t drink. I’ve never tried a drug,” says the actress. How about clubs? “The music is so loud, you can’t have a conversation with somebody,” she complains. “If I were an amazing dancer, yeah, I’d go, but I’m definitely not. My friend calls me a speed walker because my elbows are everywhere.” She adds, “It’s not like I decided on these strict lifestyle choices and I’m enforcing them. It’s just something that I genuinely don’t have a desire for.” Sweater by Balmain, briefs by Michael Kors, and boots by Le Chameau.

We asked Lively about some of her leading men. Of Taylor Kitsch, who costarred in Savages, she says, “Our first day [was filming] the sex scenes. I was in a full-length skirt, a full top, and he was the one with his tush sticking out. But that was kind of empowering, like, ha-ha!” And as for Ben Affleck, who she appeared with in The Town, she says, “As somebody who knows Ben and Jennifer [Garner], they cannot be more sacred with their family and their home life.”

For Lively’s “sexy and undone” cover look, hairstylist Serge Normant sprayed volumizer from roots to ends and blow-dried her hair straight with a round brush. He bent large sections of hair slightly with a flatiron to create a “broken wave that mimicked the texture of naturally dried hair.” After spraying dry shampoo on her roots for body, he rubbed a bit of Serge Normant Meta Sheer Dry Oil Finishing Spray on the ends to give them shine. “I wanted it to be a bit Bardot, without any retro feel,” Normant said.

Makeup artist Dotti wanted Lively to look “very fresh, very ’60s,” so she kept the focus on the actress’s glowing skin. As a first step, she dusted taupe eye shadow on Lively’s eyelids, curled her lashes with a heated eyelash curler, and applied black mascara. “We wanted the eyes to look wide open,” she said. Next, the makeup artist applied a thin layer of tinted moisturizer, dabbed on highlighter, and blended peachy pink cream blush on the apples of the actress’s cheeks and across her nose. For Lively’s lips, Dotti simply slicked on a clear balm. “Blake’s natural lip color is pink; it’s so beautiful,” she said.

Lively is the rare actress who actually eats at restaurants—and she shares. After she digs into writer Brooke Hauser’s sorbet, Hauser takes a small spoonful of Lively’s chocolate soufflé. “Can you take a bigger bite, please?” Lively scolds, loading up a perfect bite and thrusting the spoon at Hauser.

People often ask Lively about her diet and exercise regimen, and the truth is, she doesn’t really have anything of the sort. “I wish I could lie and say that I do something, but…” She cuts herself short, perhaps realizing how unfair it sounds. “I obviously have plenty of imperfections on my body, but I’d rather have a little bit of cellulite and go do a food trip and try every ice cream place in the South.” Here, Lively photographs Kate and Baylen, her niece and nephew.

With Gossip Girl coming to an end after its sixth season, Lively is looking forward to having more time to travel. “I’ve worked on a lot of characters in the past five years, but I haven’t had time to work on my own character. That’s something that I’m really excited to do. I thought, I can’t wait for Gossip Girl to be done because there are so many movies I want to do! But right now, I’m so peaceful. I’ve never been happier in my life.”
