Beyonce in GQ: “Giving birth made me realize the power of being a woman”

GQ has released some more photos and interview bits from Beyonce’s February cover story. We’ve already seen some of the pictures, and gotten some bits from the interview. Today we’ve got more, and in these quotes, she’s talking about giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy. Here are some more outtakes from the interview:

On her chemistry with husband Jay-Z: “I was independent before I met my husband, and we have such a natural chemistry and a genuine relationship, and it’s based on the things that relationships are supposed to be based on. I’ve seen, growing up, when a woman or a man in a relationship—it doesn’t matter which one—doesn’t feel confident, they feel a bit trapped. Your self-worth is determined by you. You don’t have to depend on someone telling you who you are.”

On giving birth to Blue Ivy: “When I gave birth, that was the first time I truly let go and surrendered. And it taught me how amazing that feels… Giving birth made me realize the power of being a woman. I have so much more substance in my life. And expressing that excitement and that sensuality and the connection I have with my husband—I’m a lot more comfortable with that now. I actually feel like my child introduced me to myself.”

On rumors she faked her pregnancy: “I felt like I kind of had to protect my mother, because when people made up the silliest rumor about me not really being pregnant. She was there when I went through all of those things. And my sister. They were very, very defensive. It’s not personal to me, and it comes along with the job, but the lack of respect—people will just go too far sometimes.”

On being a Virgo: “Because I’m a Virgo, I will think myself into a crazy frenzy, and I will re-think and re-think and figure out, you know, way too many things.”

I never bought into all the rumors that Beyonce faked her pregnancy. What a stupid and pointless rumor that is. Seriously – who even cares? We all saw pictures of her pregnant belly, and it looked very real.

Here are some more pictures we didn’t see the first time around…

SNEAK PEEK: Beyonce’s very revealing GQ cover!

The internet is buzzing today about this picture of a nearly naked Beyonce on the cover of what might be GQ’s February issue.

On the potential cover, the 31-year-old singer is seen showing off her Bootylicious body in a cropped peek-a-boob athletic tee (she’s clearly getting ready for her major Super Bowl performance), red leopard panties with zipper pockets (feisty and functional) and plenty of bling (“All Gold Everything”).

No confirmation yet that this is actually the February cover, but I’m thinking it definitely is!

She looks amazing!

NEW PICS: Beyonce steps out with a much-bigger Blue Ivy and a beehive FULL of dreads!

Blue Ivy Carter is getting so big … and so is Beyonce’s hair!

Blue’s been kept under wraps whenever she’s popped up in public so far, but Beyonce Knowles was spotted in NYC today holding her 7-month-old baby girl … and we’re starting to get a much better look at her.

INF Daily’s photographers caught up with Beyonce as she left Bergdorf Goodman this afternoon in New York City – with an bag-toting assistant following close behind.

What do you think of her new ‘do?

Beyonce opens up about life after Blue Ivy

This week it was announced that Beyonce was chosen as People Magazine’s World’s Most Beautiful Person. Now we’re getting some clips from the interview. She opens up about going a bit more low-key since the birth of her daughter, Blue Ivy. She’s trading in her high heels for flats, and is doing her own hair (gasp!).

Beyonce on her high heels: ‘I never thought there would be a day when I wouldn’t wear heels. Now that I have a child, I walk around holding her all day, I’m buying loafers and oxfords. I love them, because they’re comfortable, and shorter heels too. [Jay-Z] loves it when I wear flat shoes, which is surprising – he never saw me in flats before! He likes me more natural – just he relaxed, natural me.’

She does her own hair too: ‘I recently cut two inches myself – I just parted it in the middle and chh-chh-chh!’

On breastfeeding and workouts: Beyoncé also revealed how breast-feeding her little one for ten weeks helped her lose ‘the bulk’ of her pregnancy weight, but that she’s now on a strict-protein based diet. She now works out three times a week for 90 minutes, doing a combination of running, dancing and crunches. ‘I’m definitely softer, but I feel my body bouncing back,’ she says.

Here are some beautiful pictures of Beyonce from her Tumblr account.

Beyonce named People’s World’s Most Beautiful Woman 2012

People has named Beyonce their World’s Most Beautiful Woman, 2012. Here’s her cover!

The singer opened up about motherhood (she welcomed her first daughter this year) and her husband Jay-Z.

“I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth … I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.”

The “Crazy in Love” singer, 30, and her husband of four years, Jay-Z, 42, have gone gaga for Blue, born Jan. 7 in New York City. “She’s just the cutest thing,” gushes Beyoncé, who croons one-of-a-kind tunes to her daughter and professes to “love” changing diapers.

So who does her daughter most resemble? “She looks like Blue,” says Beyoncé, who is back to her pre-pregnancy weight and gearing up for her first post-baby concerts, Memorial Day weekend at the Revel Atlantic City. “She’s her own person.”

“The best thing about having a daughter is having a true legacy,” she adds. “The word ‘love’ means something completely different now.”

Do you agree with People’s choice? Is Beyonce the most beautiful woman of the year? If not – who would get your vote?

New Beyonce ‘Pulse’ fragrance ad!

Here’s the info from StyleWatch:

Beyoncé‘s latest fragrance, Pulse, hits stores in September, and the sexy, just-released ad already has our pulses beating faster. The seductive scent — a follow-up to the singer’s perfumes Heat and Heat Rush — features notes of pear blossom, peony, midnight blooming jasmine, Madagascar vanilla and for the first time in a fragrance, bluebird orchid. “Pulse is a fragrance you can wear all the time,” Beyoncé tells PEOPLE exclusively. “I love the idea of a signature scent that lets a woman leave her mark wherever she goes, so I always try to make my scents appropriate for any occasion.” The fragrance comes in an upside-down chrome-and-blue bottle, neatly tucked into a holographic carton. The bottle’s topper, a chrome cap, was inspired by her stage costumes. “I love [that] because it incorporates fashion into the overall design,” Beyoncé said in a statement. The print ad was photographed by Lionel Gasperini, and the TV commercial was shot by Jake Nava, who directed the singer’s “Single Ladies” video and her oh-so-sexy Heat commercial. Edited by Beyoncé, it’s set to the first single from her new album.

Gonna be honest, I’ve never smelled her fragrances, so I’m not sure how this one will measure up to the rest. Have you? What’s your opinion?

Beyonce launching a third fragrance!

After launching two successful fragrances in the past, Beyonce has announced that she will be releasing a third this fall.

The singer told Elle: “Women always tell me that my music makes them feel strong and confident, and Pulse is about finding that inner power.”

Keeping with the performance theme, the floral citrus scent comes packaged in an upside down bottle inspired by her many stage outfits.
