Sneak Peek: Miranda Kerr Models Million-Dollar Bra in Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

Photo: Getty

The Victoria’s Secret Fantasy Treasure Bra may cost a pretty penny, but Miranda Kerr made it look oh-so-pretty Wednesday night during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York. The model walked the runway wearing the $2.5 million diamond-studded bra by London Jewelers — plus an elaborate shell costume — and drew effusive cheers from husband Orlando Bloom, who sat front-row during the show.

Trend: Red Lipstick

Christian Dior’s orange-red pucker (shown here) is a spring standby. But, as designers Donna Karan and Anthony Vaccarello demonstrated, brownish and purplish reds are fair game too.

Trend: Bangs

Faux blunt-bangs stole the spotlight at Hermès (shown here) and John Galliano; at Miu Miu, models’ own strands were molded and pinned over the forehead for a similar appearance.

Post Trick-or-Treating Dental Tips‏

Photo: mandaloo, Flickr

I vowed to be strong this year, I wouldn’t give in to my sweet tooth. Unfortunately the call of mini Twix, and snickers was too much to ignore. If you have been enjoying all the sugary Halloween treats as well here are some tips to keep your dentist from ever knowing.

Trick-or-treating is fun but that much sugar can be scary for your teeth. Check out Dr. Singh, funder and CEO of Arch Dental’s five tips for enjoying your Halloween treats!

1. Choose candy that melts quickly and can be eaten easily.

2. Have a glass of water after eating candy to wash away the sugar and neutralize the acid.

3. Avoid grazing on candy; it increases the time sugars are in contact with tooth enamel.

4. Have a treat with or after a meal, followed by a thorough tooth-brushing .

5. Time is of the essence when it comes to teeth and sugar. If not removed by brushing, or swishing with water, sugar from any source can increase the likelihood of cavities.

Don’t let your anti-aging routine stop at your face!

Fernando Milani

If you think you have  a handle on anti- aging with a great eye cream and facial regimen you are missing one vital piece. Most women overlook their hair as they grow older, missing key steps to keeping their hair healthy, shiny and vibrant. Fortunately Anti-Aging hair care is one of the fastest growing hair care categories and there are lots of great products to get you hair Rapunzel would swoon over.

Pick the right haircut:

You don’t need to chop off your hair  just because your no longer getting carded on ladies night. Study your face and your  lines to determine the right cut. Long hair can make crows feet appear smaller while a great bob can diminish the look of laugh lines and under eye droop. Your stylist can help you find the perfect cut to play up your best features.

Great hair starts on the inside:

What you put in your body is as important as what you put on it. When it comes to healthy hair a high quality anti-aging supplement and a healthy balanced diet will aid you in keeping silky, vibrant hair. Your hair will also benefit from hair care products fortified with vitamins A, B, C, and E, try Vitamin Blueberry Avocado Shampoo ($3.99) infused with potent antioxidants.

Treat your hair to a mask:

A great deep conditioner or mask can help combat dryness and roughness. A great deep conditioner that is easy on the wallet is Age Beautiful Intense Strengthing Treatment (9.99), a customer favorite leaves hair moisturized and easy to manage and adds unbelievable shine.

Switch your Shampoo and Conditioner:

A switch to anti-aging shampoo and conditioner will help nourish  and moisturizeyour hair restoring a youthful shine. Alterna’s Caviar Moisture ($53.00)  goes beyond simple moisture by helping hair attract, retain, and rebalance the hydration it needs. One of my favorites Frederic Fekkai Ageless ($35-$125) anti-aging formula repairs and prevents the effects of biological, environmental and mechanical aging in hair by restoring hair’s intrinsic strength, structure and vitality.

BRAVE WINDY WEATHER HEAD-ON!

BRAVE WINDY WEATHER HEAD-ON: TAMING FLYAWAY HAIR FROM JOHNATHAN BREITUNG SALON & LUXURY SPA

Blustery days can upset your perfectly-styled coif and leave hair looking messy and dull – not a cute look for any girl. Luckily frizzy, windblown hair can be controlled with a few easy tricks. Johnathan Breitung of Johnathan Breitung Salon & Luxury Spa in Chicago shares his top tips for keeping your hair looking fabulous whether your hair is wavy, curly, or straight.

Wavy Hair:
Powerful gusts of wind can leave wavy hair looking limp. Johnathan Breitung recommends Texture from Bumble and Bumble to help style hair on windy days. Apply a small amount to damp hair. Scrunch and ruffle it through the hair and let the product sit for a couple of minutes. Texture can be air dried or for extra lift and movement use a diffuser. This will give your hair enough volume and bounce to resist losing its shape on a breezy day.

Straight Hair:
Try wearing your hair in a bun or pulling the front pieces into a half-up half-down ‘do. Straight hair can lose body and tangle easily, so a structured hairstyle is your best bet.

Curly Hair:
Windy weather can leave your hair looking lackluster. Eliminating alcohol products helps curly hair stay nourished and full-bodied. Deep-conditioning your hair weekly with products like Bumble and Bumble’s Deeep or Mending Conditioner will also keep your curly locks looking fabulous.

Tips for All Hair Types:
1) Get the tousled look. Work leave-in conditioner into your hair to keep it soft and sleek even in the most turbulent weather.
2) Check yo’ ponytail. A low ponytail is chic and works with any ensemble. It only takes a second to sweep it up and dodge flyaway strands all day long.
3) Head for the hills, or at least look like it. Heidi braids are a perfectly cute way to tie back your hair to avoid it getting swept away by the wind. Try crisscrossing them on the crown of the head and securing with bobbypins for a more sophisticated Nordic style.
4) Sleep chic. Opt for a satin pillow so hair slides smoothly instead of getting frizzy while you snooze.

P&G launches new packaging, marketing campaign for Ivory brand

AMERICAN ICON IVORY SOAP GETS MODERN DAY MAKEOVER

Procter & Gamble’s oldest and most iconic brand, Ivory, today released a bold new advertising campaign and vibrant product packaging design for its line of bar soaps and body washes. The refreshingly honest campaign highlights the simplicity of the Ivory soap product that consumers have loved for more than 130 years while contemporizing the product’s look and feel.

Developed by Portland-based Wieden+Kennedy, the new ad campaign takes a humorous look at what are called “Ivoryisms” or refreshingly honest product truths. Smart, edgy and irreverent “Ivoryisms” like “Cleanliness Needn’t Involve Costliness” will start appearing in the national broadcast, print and online advertising campaign starting Oct. 2011.
