Allure’s April 2014 Cover Girl Lauren Conrad Shares Wedding Planning Tips

2la57qo

She looks amazing in these photos. One of the few MTV girls who seems to have her head on straight and used her fame to create a career.

Lauren Conrad met her fiancé, law student William Tell, on Valentine’s Day two years ago. (They were set up by a mutual friend.) “We’ve set a date, but we’re actually not telling anybody. We’ll send out the save-the-dates, but until then…” the 28-year-old says with the wisdom of someone who has been a paparazzi target for a decade. “It’ll be about 200 people, but I’m still figuring things out.” We asked her how she’s planning a wedding while her fiancé studies.

Gauge his interest. “I ask him if he cares before I start asking questions. So I’ll say, ‘I’m looking at food or flowers or whatever,’ and before I even get into it, I say, ‘I want to know if you care about this.’ Sometimes he does, and sometimes he doesn’t.”

Be fine with his answer. “I’m glad [Tell] doesn’t care about the flowers. I wanted him to see sketches of the dress, but he said absolutely not. I’m wearing it for him! But if he doesn’t want to see it, I don’t want to make him. He loves music–that’s his life–so he picked the band.”

Time yourself. “I’ll ask him, ‘Is this a good time?’ I keep a list. So when it’s a good time, I’ll say, ‘OK, just real quick…’ And I keep it short. If you don’t do it in ten minutes, then you lose him.”

Don’t stress. “One of my girlfriends got married a couple years ago, and I talked to her the next day. She was like, ‘Yesterday I was a bride; today I’m just married.’ She was so bummed. Are you kidding me?! My friends who enjoyed their weddings the most were the easygoing girls. Things are going to go wrong; not everything is going to be perfect. But at the end of the day, we’re married and happy, and it’s great.”

“Take any trend you want and relax it. That’s how California does it,” Conrad says of her beach babe style. “If it’s silk button-up shirts that are in, you probably don’t button them all the way, and you cuff a sleeve, you know what I mean? It’s almost like how your outfit looks at the end of the day.”

“Your bed is for sleep and sex,” Conrad says her busy schedule and habit of working in bed. The author and designer also has a wedding to plan, as she and former Something Corporate guitarist William Tell became engaged in October 2013.

The most beautiful woman on the planet lands the January cover of Allure

penelope-cruz-allure-jan3

I think Penelope Cruz is one of the most beautiful women on the planet. She is flawless. She looks just as gorgeous WITH makeup as she does without. When she opens her mouth, pure sexiness oozes out. She is just so hot!

The actress landed the January (already!?) cover of Allure Magazine, and she does not disappoint. Penelope opens up about being addicted to breastfeeding, her family and her diet. Here’s more!

Diet & breastfeeding: Penélope Cruz dug into the soup, Peking duck, and crispy fish she ordered during her Allure interview, saying, “As you can see, we’re not going to talk about diet for this story.” Not the deprivation type, anyway. Cruz, mother of six-month-old Luna, says, “I’m supposed to get extra calories because breast-feeding you burn, like, an extra 500 a day. I was breast-feeding my son 13 months, and I plan to do the same with my daughter. [Nursing] is addictive. It’s hard when the day comes when you have to stop.”

Family: Cruz and her husband, actor Javier Bardem, are also parents to Leonardo, almost 3. “I always knew I wanted a family because of the way I grew up,” she says. “Family has always been the most important thing.”

Hair: “My parents owned a hair salon, so I learned a few tricks there. I can cut people’s hair—if they let me,” says Cruz.

On Salma Hayek: “She’s one of my best friends. We call each other huevos [eggs]. It was because when we were working together, we didn’t have children yet, so we used to sleep much more than now. So it was a way to call each other lazy. We slept in the same bed so many times and it was like she was always trying to wake me up and call me huevos.”

I loved breastfeeding my first son. I did it for 13 months as well, and I loved every single time. By time my second son came around I wasn’t able to keep it up like I could with my first. But I understand the love for breastfeeding. It’s something only YOU and your child can experience. it’s such a bonding thing.

Jennifer Garner lands the September cover of Allure Magazine, talks Ben & Botox!

Jennifer Garner may be married to one of Hollywood’s biggest actors, but she wants you to know she’s still her own unique person. In the September issue of Allure Magazine, the 42-year-old actress reveals that she sometimes attends events without husband Ben Affleck in a bid to keep her individuality.

“It’s a very conscious decision,” she admitted. “It can be too much, I think, especially for women. They can really lose their identity and just become ‘wife of. Sometimes it’s a pain because my heels are so high and it would be nice to have his arm. And he’s such a great date!”

Jennifer and Ben, who have three children together,  met on the set of 2003’s “Daredevil.” Even though they starred together onscreen once, Jennifer says she never wants to do it again. “Really, you don’t want to see a couple onscreen,” she said. “People see paparazzi shots of us together all the time. There’s no mystery. … People are sick of us.”

She also confessed that she’s not interested in taking roles that requires her to make dramatic changes to her body. “There were times I had to watch every calorie that went into my body. Doing something like that again…it’s not exactly on the top of my list.”

She’s also not interested in Botox. “I have a big forehead, and I don’t want it to be like this slab, a big glacier.”

I love her. I always have…. started with ‘Alias’ and has continued since then. Sunday night I made my 11-year-old son watch ’13 Going on 30′ with me – and I realize how unbelievably gorgeous she is. She’s just so cute, and so beautiful, and seems SO down to earth. Having three kids in Hollywood – you still never see her with a nanny (which I really appreciate). She’s just do darn cute!

PS: My son LOVED the movie. :)

Kate Moss covers Allure Magazine. Talks plastic surgery, her weight and Johnny Depp!

Kate Moss lands this month’s Allure Magazine, looking hotter than ever. Seriously, does the woman age? She’s gorgeous! In the interview, Kate opens up about plastic surgery, her weight, and the best piece of advice she ever got from ex-boyfriend, Johnny Depp.

The beautiful photos were shot by Mario Testino, in London. Here are some quotes from the interview:

Moss’s much-photographed face has inspired works of art, including a portrait by Lucian Freud, a solid-gold statue in her image, and two holograms. Asked why she thinks she is such a powerful inspiration for artists, she replies modestly, “I must be a bit of a blank canvas.” Pause. “Or something.” In fact, her skills at interpreting the fantasies of art directors and fashion editors make her as much in demand today as she was 20 years ago. “At a shoot, I’m really aware of everything,” she says. “When they do makeup, sometimes I can’t see what they’re doing, but I can feel it. I know what I look like, even when I can’t see what they’ve done. I know how to compose myself.”

These days, it takes more than fire and ferocious dogs at a photo shoot to unsettle Moss, but in her early days of modeling, she admits she had some insecurities. “I didn’t like my flat chest,” she says. “I was like, ‘Oh, I’m going to have a tit job.’ Can you imagine?” Posing nude was also a challenge, she says. “I used to be so scared about ‘Oh, I don’t want to show my body.’ Now that I’ve shown it, it doesn’t bug me about my moles, or ‘This isn’t big enough’ and ‘That’s not smooth enough.'” Today, very little seems off-limits for the free-spirited Moss—including the intimate details of her self-tanning habits. “I don’t mind a bikini bottom. My husband likes lines on the bum—men like white bums, like a frame,” she says. “Like a bull’s-eye?” someone at the shoot asks. “Exactly,” Moss replies. “I don’t do it on the boobs, though—I try not to have a white boob.”
