Fango Ristorativo

I am in love with Borghese Fango Ristorativo mask, its just what the doctor ordered for my dry winter skin. My skin was starting to feel like leather so I gently buffed it then applied my Fango Ristorativo mask.

The mask is both hydrating and clarifying and it felt incredibly nourishing on my skin. Since working the Fango mask into my skincare routine my face feels like new again. Its clearer and I am not having any issues with dry patches. Love it!

The new rage of the West? Vaginal Steam Baths.

The Crazy Spa Treatment You’ve Never Tried: Vaginal Steam Baths–Coming to a Spa Near You?

Glamour.com reports on an unusual new spa treatment hitting the U.S.

Quite possibly the strangest spa trend of the moment? The vaginal steam bath. What sounds, well, completely bonkers, though, has been popular in Asian countries for years and it’s now gaining steam (sorry, couldn’t resist) here in the U.S. for its so-called health benefits. What is it, and should you try it?

Here’s how the Los Angeles Times describes the new spa trend of the moment: “Pungent steam rises from a boiling pot of a mugwort tea blended with wormwood and a variety of other herbs. Above it sits a nude woman on an open-seated stool, partaking in a centuries-old Korean remedy that is gaining a toehold in the West. Vaginal steam baths, called chai-yok, are said to reduce stress, fight infections, clear hemorrhoids, regulate menstrual cycles and aid infertility, among many other health benefits. In Korea, many women steam regularly after their monthly periods.”

In fact, some woman swear by vaginal steam baths–saying they help reduce depression and help with fertility. LA resident Niki Han Schwarz told the LA Times that it worked for her. After five steams, she had fewer aches and pains and went on to get pregnant at the age of 45, after three years of trying to conceive. She and her husband, an orthopedic surgeon, are now determined to introduce vaginal steam baths to Southern California women. Their Santa Monica spa, Tikkun Holistic Spa, offers a 30-minute V-Steam treatment for $50, reports the LA Times. And, lest you think this is just a female thing, the spa is offering a similar treatment to men, to steam their southern regions.

Just found it is available in my hometown, maybe I will sign Jocelyn up to check it out for us!

From the Jade Sauna: Tea Chair

Have a glass of green tea and prepare for another new experience, the tea chair. The tea chair is made of cedar wood and is a non-invasive douche. Warm steam rises from a mixture of herbs are placed beneath the chair. Warm vapors rise through an opening in the center. Through regular use, this gyno-steam is believed to prevent PMS and yeast infections. Mothers who have recently given birth are encouraged to use the gyno-steam in the healing process.

After 15 years in the shoe business, Jimmy Choo launches its first fragrance!

According to Stylist, the Jimmy Choo is launching their first fragrance, to be sold exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue starting January 15th.

The fragrance will be called Jimmy Choo.

“We’ve transitioned into a lifestyle luxury brand, and it seemed like the next natural step for us,” Tamara Mellon, co-founder and chief creative officer of Jimmy Choo, told WWD at a London event to launch the fragrance. “Fragrance is such an important accessory for women — I think it will have a very broad reach. Our customer is every woman.”

The juice, three years in the making, was created by Olivier Polge of International Flavors & Fragrances, and it’s a fruity chypre with green top notes, as well as exotic tiger orchid, sweet toffee and Indonesian patchouli notes.

“You have to — fragrance is something that’s very… personal,” said Mellon, to a room full of beauty editors at the New York launch event, where she revealed that her favorites as a teenager included Opium and Anaïs Anaïs. “I love the smell of green fresh notes, they’re in the top notes of our fragrance. I like things that are sensual, so that’s how we came in with the patchouli.”

“We wanted to create something that was an object of desire, that you would be proud to have on show,” said Mellon of the Murano-glass-inspired perfume bottle. She has a history of using the Italian material for chandeliers in some of the first Jimmy Choo stores.
