REVLON BRAND AMBASSADOR OLIVIA WILDE AT THE 2013 MET GALA

REVLON Global Brand Ambassador Olivia Wilde attended the 2013 Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, to celebrate the museum’s new exhibition, “Punk: Chaos to Couture,” in New York City on Monday, May 6th. Celebrity Makeup Artist, Melanie Inglessis, created bold eyes with a focus on heavy liner to complement Olivia’s Calvin Klein cut-out gown, for a sophisticated look with a punk twist.

“I wanted to play off this year’s Met Gala theme as inspiration for Olivia’s look,” said Inglessis. “Olivia has the most beautiful eyes so we really wanted to focus on that. We didn’t want to go too literal, so we opted for a classic black eye liner but double lined it with a white liner to complement Olivia’s white and black dress. To create the eye look I started with a black kajal liner and drew a beautiful, simple line with a very soft winged end. Once I was happy with the shape, I went over it with a crème gel liner to seal the line and keep it looking really black and bold all night. Next I used the white end of the kajal liner and drew a second line above the black on the upper lid. To finish the eyes I smudged a grey cream shadow into the lower lid, curled the lashes twice and swept on three coats of mascara for a tacky somewhat clumpy look.”

Melanoma Monday Prevention Tips

In an effort to increase awareness of melanoma and other types of skin cancer, the American Academy of Dermatology has designated the first Monday in May as Melanoma Monday. According to the AAD, melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer and the most common cancer for 25-to 29-year-olds. Most people know the importance of sunscreen and what it can mean for skincare and sun safety, but products still end up being misused, leaving many at risk for permanent skin damage and skin aging. Below is a list of five sunscreen mistakes to avoid at all costs.
1. Thinking you’re exempt from sunscreen because you have dark or olive skin.
2. Not applying sunblock often enough.
3. Neglecting to wear sunscreen while driving or working indoors.

5. Using a sunscreen that has expired.

Rihanna’s new lipstick for MAC has sold out just three hours after going on sale for the first time.

The singer, 25, told her Twitter followers that the deep red hue was finally available to buy yesterday afternoon – but just a short while later she posted an update letting fans know that there were no more left.

‘#SOLDOUT!!!!!!!!!! First shipment sell awf!!! Next shipment isn’t til June!!! Mac girls gone wild!!!… [sic]‘ she wrote.

The shade, RiRi Woo, is a twist on MAC favorite Ruby Woo. It is the first product from the singer’s ‘multi-collection deal’ with the cosmetics giant.

 ‘Working with MAC, it’s difficult to get a red lipstick that beats Ruby Woo, because it works on every skin tone,’ she told WWD. ‘I got to pick one that worked, and I tried it on all my friends to make sure it worked on all of our skin tones.’
