I recently showed you all how to create a smoky eye using Mary Kay products. The smoky eye is one of the biggest trends is Hollywood Mystique, old school Hollywood glamour with a modern twist.

Jocelyn and I had the chance to check out Florence and the Machine at an outdoor concert (She is AMAZING). For my girls night out I was excited to try a fun smoky eye, and a soft lip color. With my fair skin I find a smoky eye a very versatile look I can start with lighter shades for day and easily kick it up a notch for a more dramatic look when I head out at night. Once I  perfect my smoky eye I love to use Mary Kay’s Ultimate Mascara it makes my lashes look great. Newest Trend: Face Lace?

Would you wear it?

Forget chalked hair and facial glitter, this season is all about face lace, the beauty trend thought up by a celebrity make-up artist that has worked with eccentric stars Annie Lennox, David Bowie and Steve Strange.

Loved by adventurous beauty gurus, face lace gives you the wearer instant amazing make-up effects without the professional time and expense.
The quirky ready-to-wear make-up designs are a girl-on-the-go’s beauty dream, with fifteen intricate designs that can be applied in under a minute and are re-usable.

Face Lace is the hot new beauty trend on every girl’s wish-list. Thanks to Phyliss Cohen we don’t all need to be an amazing make-up artist drawing intricate freehand designs on our faces. Face Lace is the brain child of make-up wizard Phyllis Cohen, an artist famous for her intricate designs and staggeringly bold fashion feats (not to mention her A-list clientele).

She said: ‘Face lace is the magic answer to so many people’s plea of “I wish I could do make-up like you”…Now anyone can create artistic make-up effects like a pro.’

The elaborate lace is perfect for a party or a themed look, Phyllis’s work dates back to the 80’s working for Zandra Rhodes fashion show crafting make-up appliqués out of latex, fabric, beads and rhinestones; it was here that the inspiration for Face Lace evolved.

Today, the range of laces includes ornate masks that simply adhere to the skin, eye laces that flatter the eye with graceful lines or elaborate silhouettes as well as mehndoodles, which can be placed wherever you choose, and playsheets of small patterns which allow you easily to invent your own Face Lace designs.

The Face Lace collection is available online from www.face-lace.com and is priced from £13.95 – £19.95.
