Mary Kay Fall Trends Out On The Town!

Anyone who lives in Oregon knows we survive the rain for late summer and early Fall. It doesn’t get more beautiful than Oregon in the fall, with our warm days, cool crisp evenings and the most gorgeous colors of the year.  I just want to be out everyday this time of year soaking it all in while I can. On top of loving the weather I love all the new fashion and beauty products that launch in September. I love to choose  a few new colors to my spruce up makeup palette.

I recently showed you all how to create a smoky eye using Mary Kay products. The smoky eye is one of the biggest trends is Hollywood Mystique, old school Hollywood glamour with a modern twist.

Jocelyn and I had the chance to check out Florence and the Machine at an outdoor concert (She is AMAZING). For my girls night out I was excited to try a fun smoky eye, and a soft lip color. With my fair skin I find a smoky eye a very versatile look I can start with lighter shades for day and easily kick it up a notch for a more dramatic look when I head out at night. Once I  perfect my smoky eye I love to use Mary Kay’s Ultimate Mascara it makes my lashes look great. With all the great colors in the Hollywood Mystique Mary Kay line you can find the perfect look for all your special occasions this fall.

Do you have any  beauty-must haves this Fall?

Get The Look: Rashida Jones at the Elle Women in Hollywood Event

Actress Rashida Jones made her mark at the ELLE Women in Hollywood Event in Beverly Hills last night. Celebrity Makeup Artist Jamie Greenberg shared her tips and tricks for creating Rashida’s glowing look.

Face & Cheeks:
”I started by applying mark Primed for Perfection Face Primer and mark Got the Goods Multi-Benefit Foundation Lotion SPF 15 in Medium 8 for a strong, moisturized, even base. Next, I applied mark Bronze Pro Bronzing Powder and Light Show Illuminating Face Powder all over Rashida’s face to create a luminous glow. Finally, I applied mark Just Pinched Instant Blush Tint in Peachy to add a warm tone to her skin.”

Eyes:
“I started by applying mark Please Hold Eye Primer to Rashida’s eyelids to create a strong base. Next, I applied mark I-Mark Wet/Dry Eye Shadow in Biscotti to the insides of her lids, followed by mark I-Mark Wet/Dry Eye Shadow in Nightly and Galactic on the outsides of her lids. I lined Rashida’s top eye lines with mark Keep It Going Longwear Eyeliner & Shadow in Surreal (blue shade) and her bottom lash lines with mark No Place to Run Longwear Eyeliner in Indigo Girl. I finished Rashida’s eyes by applying mark Lash Act Build and Define Mascara in Blackest Black to her top and bottom lashes.”

Lips:
“For Rashida’s lips, I applied mark Lipclick Full Color Lipstick in Toasty to create a nude lip.”

Newest Trend: Face Lace?

Would you wear it?

Forget chalked hair and facial glitter, this season is all about face lace, the beauty trend thought up by a celebrity make-up artist that has worked with eccentric stars Annie Lennox, David Bowie and Steve Strange.

Loved by adventurous beauty gurus, face lace gives you the wearer instant amazing make-up effects without the professional time and expense.
The quirky ready-to-wear make-up designs are a girl-on-the-go’s beauty dream, with fifteen intricate designs that can be applied in under a minute and are re-usable.

Face Lace is the hot new beauty trend on every girl’s wish-list. Thanks to Phyliss Cohen we don’t all need to be an amazing make-up artist drawing intricate freehand designs on our faces. Face Lace is the brain child of make-up wizard Phyllis Cohen, an artist famous for her intricate designs and staggeringly bold fashion feats (not to mention her A-list clientele).

She said: ‘Face lace is the magic answer to so many people’s plea of “I wish I could do make-up like you”…Now anyone can create artistic make-up effects like a pro.’

The elaborate lace is perfect for a party or a themed look, Phyllis’s work dates back to the 80’s working for Zandra Rhodes fashion show crafting make-up appliqués out of latex, fabric, beads and rhinestones; it was here that the inspiration for Face Lace evolved.

Today, the range of laces includes ornate masks that simply adhere to the skin, eye laces that flatter the eye with graceful lines or elaborate silhouettes as well as mehndoodles, which can be placed wherever you choose, and playsheets of small patterns which allow you easily to invent your own Face Lace designs.

The Face Lace collection is available online from www.face-lace.com and is priced from £13.95 – £19.95.

Fall Beauty From Lancome!

My brother got married a couple weeks ago, and believe it or not, these were the colors of their wedding! Orange and green! When these products came in the mail, I almost did a cartwheel (but I didn’t, fear not). I was thrilled to see these products come in, because I knew they’d look beautiful at the ceremony.

I can’t rave enough about this eye shadow palette. It’s BEYOND ridiculous. Seriously, it’s amazing. The color is so strongly pigmented, it’s a dream, I swear. The colors go so beautifully together, and each palette comes with instructions on how to apply them both for day and evening wear. You can put the shadow on wet or dry – and the result is GORGEOUS. (FYI: The dark bronze color on the bottom I used wet as an eye-liner, and it was out-of-this-world!)

Color Design Eye Brightening All-In-One 5 Shadow & Liner Palette is Lancôme’s biggest eye shadow launch in a decade!

Wet Pour Process, a new Japanese technology that delivers a supremely silky, vivid and long-lasting shadow is being used for the first time by Lancôme. The technology works by combining loose pigments and solvent, which are poured into a pan and lightly pressed. As the solvent evaporates, the shadow becomes a solid. Traditional shadows are hard-pressed, which can crush pearls and deliver less color pay-off.

Thanks to this process, the Color Design Eye Brightening All-In-One 5 Shadow & Liner Palette shades are luxuriously smooth with high-potency color. The powders offer excellent glide and slip.

* Vitamin E delivers antioxidant protection against the environment.

* Each palette contains an all-over color, lid color, crease color, highlighter and liner

* Can be applied wet or dry

* $48 (suggested retail price)

* 10 palettes: Midnight Rush, Teal Fury, Amethyst Glam, Sienna Sultry, Pink Envy, Mauve Chérie, Taupe Craze, Coral Crush, Bronze Amour and Jade Fever * Available February/March 2011 at Lancôme counters nationwide and lancome-usa.com

Behold Blush Subtil Palette, three simple steps to the perfect sculpted cheek – in one compact.

Have you ever wanted beautifully defined cheekbones, but didn’t know what shades to choose, and where to apply them? Introducing Blush Subtil Palette, which features three smooth, blendable shades expertly created by Lancôme to work together, based on your unique skin tone.

HOW TO USE

Sweep deepest contour shade in the hollow under the cheekbone, running to just above the ear

Using the medium blush shade, smile to start at the “apple” of your cheek, and blend to hairline

Brush the lightest highlighter shade on the upper cheekbone in a “C” shape, by starting a top the cheekbone, blending around the outer corner of the eye, and onto the brow bone
