Introducing Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution!

I’ve had this product for probably over a month now, and haven’t reviewed it yet because I really wanted to see if it works. I used it every night after washing my face for weeks now, and I am happy to announce I absolutely saw results.

I have sun spots that are under my eyes, and they drive me NUTS. This product reduced the darkness of the spots so much – that I’m convinced it’s going to remove them completely as I continue to use it!

Following the 2010, breakthrough development of Kiehl’s Photo-age Corrector, Kiehl’s Since 1851 chemists introduce a fast, exceptionally effective formulation developed to promote youthful clarity while addressing the appearance of dark spots, discolorations, acne scarring and uneven skin tone – Kiehl’s Dermatologist Solutions® Clearly CorrectiveTM Dark Spot Solution.

The formula’s key ingredient, power-packed Activated C, is the latest-generation Vitamin C derivative available and Kiehl’s Since 1851 is proud to be the first company to bring this ingredient to market in the U.S. Kiehl’s unique, entirely clear preparation is 100% active to quickly begin attacking deep-set dark spots; and, with its “anti-cluster” technology, it swiftly breaks apart discolorations and prevents the formation of new pigment clusters.

Formulated with White Birch and Peony Extracts, the results of this potent combination are clear: fast, correction year-round, for visibly more uniform skin tone and overall clarity. This product is photostabilized and silicone-free and not made with optical diffusers or pearls to mask discolorations/dark spots, hence the clear formula in a clear bottle.

Most discoloration products work in a similar fashion by:
• Exfoliating skin to decrease retention of unwanted melanin at the surface;
• Limiting excessive melanin production and slowing the transfer of melanin to surrounding keratinocytes;
• Increasing anti-oxidant protection to prevent skin damage and melanin over-production.

Through comprehensive research, Kiehl’s chemists discovered that Activated C adds an innovative, valuable step in the fight against unwanted pigmentation: prevention of melanin clusters. Activated C actually breaks up existing melanin clusters, treating pigment currently present in the skin and inhibiting the formation of new melanin clusters.

“At Kiehl’s, we’ve determined that to promote clarity and a more youthful appearance, Activated C is next-generation. We’ve learned that we can’t simply slow down the production and migration of hyperpigmentation,” states Dr. Angelike Galdi, Kiehl’s Head Chemist & AVP of Research and Development. “We have to break up the overproduced melanin, prevent it from clustering into a dark spot and stop it from migrating to the surface. We refer to this as anti-cluster activity and Activated C is outstanding in this functionality. Many other spot corrector products do not perform this action. We believe that with this advancement, all hyperpigmentation products will now be evaluated for their performance in this area.”

Clearly Corrective is a fast-acting serum that penetrates faster and deeper allowing you to see results even sooner. This serum evens skin tone, diminishes dark spots to impart overall radiance and luminosity to the skin:

  • In as little as 2 weeks, 55% of women clinically demonstrated a significant reduction in dark spot intensity.
  • In 4 weeks, 69% of women clinically demonstrated a continued reduction in dark spots intensity and 73% of women showed a significant reduction in acne scarring. Reduction in other skin discolorations was clinically evident among 69% of women.
  • In 8 weeks, 87% of women clinically demonstrated more uniform skin tone to deliver breakthrough clarity.

Bottom line – this stuff works! If you have dark spots that you’d like to see go away – start with this product. We know and trust Kiehl’s – and they didn’t let us down this time!

Disclosure: I was sent a bottle of this product to sample for my review.

Julia Wears Lancôme to the Mirror Mirror Premiere.

Lancôme ambassadress Julia Roberts shone at the premiere of her new film Mirror Mirror in Los Angeles on Saturday. Since the event was in the morning, makeup artist Genevieve wanted to create a “very soft eyewash,” she says. First, she applied Liner Design in Indigo Darling close to the lash line on the upper lid. Next she placed the light shimmer shadow from Color Design Quad in Twirling in Tulle on the inner corner and the dark matte plum shade on the lid, followed by careful blending of the two shades. A few coats of Définicils mascara, applied to both the top and bottom lashes, completed Julia’s pretty daytime look. Genevieve used Blush Subtil in Miel Glace for a subtle touch of color on the cheeks. Rouge in Love Lipstick in Lasting Kiss accentuated Julia’s infamous smile.

Fekkai Celebrity Stylist Adir Abergel Created A Futuristic 1960’s look for Elizabeth Banks at the Hunger Games Premiere

INSPIRATION: Adir wanted to create a Barbarella inspired bob; the look was a futuristic take on a 1960’s style

How To Get the Look: Adir began by applying Fekkai Ironless Straightening Balm from the roots to the ends of wet hair. He then blow-dried the hair with a round brush until it was completely straight. Adir backcombed the top of the hair to add height and then smoothed it back into a sixties half back style. He secured the hair with a few bobby pins. To give the hair a mirror finish, Adir applied Fekkai Advanced Brilliant Glossing Cream to the ends of the hair. He finished the look by spraying Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray for an all night hold, with a natural feel.
