New! Softsoap Skincare Collection

20150921_071933 (1)

I am a shower gel junkie, my shower has 4-5 bottles at any given time. I love the bubbles, the scent and how great they feel on my skin. To feed my body wash addiction Softsoap has released two new body washes in their Skincare Collection.

Fresh & Glow Exfoliating fruit polish is a gel based fruity wonderland. The gel has apricot seeds to buff away dry, dull skin and it smells amazing. This is my favorite morning shower scent the fresh citrus and peach scent is invigorating and helps make the cooler dark mornings not so hard to take.

Body Fresh & Glow Exfoliating
Softosoap® brand Fresh & Glow exfoliating Fruit Polish is made with a 100% real extract sourced from kiwi and orange. Its unique formula is packed with apricot seeds that exfoliate, giving you healthy-looking skin that glows.

The second release is the Fresh & Glow Hydrating shower cream. A creamy body wash this is the one you want when you need to indulge in a long relaxing shower. The almond and coconut smells so rich and creamy and I love how great my skin smells even after I dry off. This smells like a tropical vacation in my shower and when I take an evening shower this is my buddy. In fact I am about to go take a late night shower now and lather up with this creamy, hydrating wash now.

Body Fresh & Glow Hydrating
Softsoap® brand Fresh & Glow hydrating Shower Cream is made with 100% real extracts sourced from milk, coconut, and almond. Its unique formula is proven to lock-in long-lasting moisture, giving you healthy-looking skin that glows.

Get The Look: Elizabeth Olsen and Dakota Johnson at the Toronto International Film Festival

See below for details on how Mark got Elizabeth and Dakota ready for their respective premieres, thanks to Dove Hair!

Elizabeth Olsen Premiere Look
“For the ‘I Saw The Light’ premiere, Elizabeth and I talked about doing an up-do and we wanted to keep it chic and not too overdone. Textured up styles are such a huge trend because the hair is away from the face but still has a style to it.” – Mark

Step 1
Start by placing a few drops of Dove Pure Care Dry Oil on damp hair and comb it through. I’m obsessed with this oil because it nourishes the hair from the inside and then seals the cuticle for smooth, silky hair. It never weighs the hair down!

Step 2
Add a dollop of Dove Style + Care Nourishing Curls Mousse to hair and scrunch while blow-drying for texture.

Step 3
When the hair is dry, take a small amount of Sally Hershberger 24K Texturizing Paste in hands and rake it through the hair for cool texture, hold, and to tame the flyaway hairs.

Step 4
Then pull the hair back and twist it into a bun (you could easily pull hair into a ponytail and then wrap the ponytail around the base) and secure with bobby pins. When putting in bobby pins, always use an even number and apply them in “X” formation for added security.

Step 5
To keep the hair in place (throughout the premiere and after party), finish by liberally spraying Dove Style+Care Extra Hold Hairspray all over.

Dakota Johnson Premiere Look
“For the premiere of ‘Black Mass’, Dakota Johnson inspired and encouraged me to do my favorite thing a textured up do! When I first saw the stunning Alexander McQueen dress she chose for the premiere my mind was overloaded with inspiration. We made the decision to do messy knots in the back and a side part with her fringe. I loved the finished look and so did she!” – Mark

Step 1
Start by applying a few drops of Dove Pure Care Dry Oil to damp hair from mid lengths to ends to seal the cuticle.

Step 2
Spray Dove Oxygen Moisture Root Lift Spray on roots and blow-dry with a round brush. When the hair is dry, take random sections of hair varying from 1 inch to 4 inches and wrap the hair in a figure 8 using the R Session Pro Tools Tidal Waver to create bends throughout the Hair.

Step 3
Take Sally Hershberger 24K Texturizing Paste in hands and rake through hair to make it piecey and to give some hold to the hair.

Step 4
With shoulder length hair like Dakota’s I knew it would be difficult to pull it all back and up in one action — take 2 to 4 inch sections of hair and twist back to create little knots at the nape of the neck, securing each one with 2 bobby pins in an “X” formation. I left the back quite messy because we liked the juxtaposition with the smooth front. Leave some whispy pieces around the face if you wish and blow-dry the fringe to the side with a flat brush.

Step 5
Finish by very liberally spraying Dove Style + Care Extra Hold Hairspray all over hair (to last all night!)

Korres Nourishing Almond and Linseed Hair Mask

korres nourishing hair mask

Summer, highlighting, heat styling…. just a few of the many ways I overwork my poor hair and am left with dry ends and split ends.  Now with the cooler, drier air coming my hair really needs a bit of TLC. I have been using the Korres Nourishing Almond and Lindseed hair mask for some much needed repair work. The formula is a bit thicker than conditioner, but still light enough to spread easily.  The mask smells amazing the warm, sweet almond scent smells great while I’m applying it and leaves a great almond scent in my hair that I can’t stop smelling. So good!

After shampooing I work from the middle of my hair down to the ends and I like to leave it on for 10 minutes. When I have the time I wrap my hair in a cap and let the mask sit for 20 minutes or more while the heat helps it penetrate deep into my hair. I have been using for two weeks and love the results. Not only are my ends looking healthier and more hydrated my hair has also has a great shine. And unlike normal conditioners the mask leaves my hair soft and smooth for days after using it. Great for before a blow out or heat styling to get the most from your style.
