Celebrity make-up artist Katey Denno believes Mother Nature gave us everything we need to feel beautiful. Watch as she shows one of our favorite beauty bloggers, Alexis Wolfer from The Beauty Bean, how to perfect her pucker with Burt’s Bees 100% natural lip color.

I have always been obsessed with Burt’s Bees. If you look back over the years, you’ll find dozens of product review’s we’ve done on the brand, and we can’t think of a single one we tried and didn’t fall in love with. The thing with brands like Burt’s Bees is you just TRUST them, don’t you? It’s rare to find a brand that you know will be good, no matter what.

When I heard about Burt’s Bees 100% Natural Lip Color, I was immediately drawn to it first and foremost because I’m not a fan of lipstick. I guess I should be clear…. I’m not a fan of my lips. If I had bigger, fuller lips, I think I’d have no problem with lipstick at all. But my lips are on the smaller side, so I don’t waste my time (or money) on lipsticks that will just be lost on me.

I am drawn to these lip products because they are Burt’s Bees, and they’re not JUST a lipstick. They give your lips gorgeous natural color, while having healing properties as well! You get color + all those amazing Burt’s Bees benefits!

Are you unsure what color would be right for you? Use Burt’s Bees Lip Shade Finder – to help you decide what color will look best with your complexion! No one knows color better than nature, and nobody knows natural lip color better than Burt’s Bees! From sheer, natural shine to rich, vibrant hues, let nature kiss your lips in your choice of intensity! Just answer 4 quick questions!

Check out this beauty tip from celebrity makeup artist Katey Denno: For natural lip exfoliation, cut a grape in half and rub it on your lips. The fruit’s juicy goodness will help alleviate dryness, and prepare your lips for whatever color combination you choose. #natureknowscolor

JESSICA BIEL – 2014 Oscar Awards

Makeup Artist: Kayleen McAdams, ck one color global makeup artist

Inspiration: “I wanted to do something really fresh, light and feminine. There were so many beautiful pastels in her dress, so I played with those tones.”

Face:

  • I prepped Jessica’ skin with moisturizing face and eye products, Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream Intense Hydration and Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, to give her makeup a good base to stick to.
  • Then, I used a damp Beauty Blender to apply ck one 3-in-1 face makeup with SPF 8 in fair 200, followed by ck one 3-in-1 concealer in light 1 underneath the eyes, around the nose, and along the edges of her mouth to even out her skin.
  • I used Charlotte Tilbury Sculpt and Highlight Powder on the tops of Jessica’s cheekbones, down her nose, and on her cupid’s bow.
  • I finished her skin with ck one cream + powder blush duo in breath 100 right on the apples of her cheeks and set it with the powder side of the product to give the look staying power throughout the night.

Eyes:

  • For Jessica’s eyes, I started by using a fluffy brush to apply ck one cream + powder bronzer duo in deeply bronzed 400 all over the lid.
  • Then, I used ck one powder eyeshadow in expose and evolved on the inner corners of the eye and along the lash line at the outer corners.
  • I completed her eye with two coats of ck one volumizing mascara on the top lashes to pump up the lashes.
  • Then, I applied the same mascara onto an eyelash comb and combed through the bottom lashes to slightly darken them.

Lips:

  • For Jessica’s lips, I used Tarte Lip Surgence in Lucky to cover her whole lip with a matte pink; I also used this product in the center of her lips to give dimension and add moisture to her look.
  • Lastly, I gave Jessica’s lips a good coating of Kiehl’s Facial Fuel No-Shine Lip Balm to soak in while I did her eyes.

Get The Look: Leslie Mann’s 2014 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Look

leslie mann oscars 2014

Love her, She looks gorgeous! Leslie’s skin looks flawless thanks in part to Radical Skincare’s Instant Revitalizing Mask.

Hitting the red carpet for the 2014 Vanity Fair Oscar party, Leslie Mann was a radiant beauty from head to toe. “I wanted to give Leslie’s makeup a fresh, young look, with an emphasis on pink tones, to give a flattering counter balance to her gorgeous chartreuse gown”, said makeup artist Elaine Offers.

Elaine began by prepping Leslie’s skin with Radical Skincare’s Instant Revitalizing Mask ($65, Sephora) to invigorate and hydrate. The soothing formula delivers a dose of vitamins and energy to the skin, which when taken off, gives you that “just-left-the-gym” glow. “I followed with a few drops of Radical Skincare’s Youth Infusion Serum, to lock in that moisture and firm skin,” said Offers.

Elaine followed with “a touch” of Cle De Peau’s Refining Fluid Foundation in I10, and Dior Beauty’s Skinflash Radiance Booster Pen in 001 Rosy Glow to highlight and perfect.

Leslie’s cheeks were then lightly blushed with Tom Ford’s Frantic Pink, and her eyes were softly shaded with the gold tones in Tom Ford’s eyeshadow palette in 01 golden Mink, and the rosy tones in 12 Seductive Rose palette.

“Her lower lash line was enhanced with Urban Decay’s 24/7 Pencil in Asphyxia, an iridescent lavender that really flattered her green eyes,” said Elaine. “We finished the look off with Kevyn Aucoin’s The Essential Mascara in Rich Black and Tom Ford’s Lip Color Sheer in 08 Incorrigible, for that perfect pink pop.”

Amy Adams 86th Annual Academy Awards
Nominee, Actress in a Leading Role, American Hustle

Makeup by Stephen Sollitto

Celebrity makeup artist Stephen Sollitto created a sophisticated makeup look for Amy Adams, who is nominated for “Actress in a Leading Role” for her portrayal of Sydney Prosser in “American Hustle.” He stated, “She wore a stunning sapphire blue Gucci gown, modern and clean. Obviously, I am inspired by this color and simply wanted the makeup to be just as sophisticated.” Below, he breaks down the steps he took to create her flawless red carpet look.

SKINCARE PREP

Sollitto prepared Adams’ skin using RéVive Moisturizing Renewal Cream ($195). He stated, “I always moisturize with this product. This is the line I use on myself every day. Prepping the skin is just as important as the makeup you use.”

FOUNDATION

  • Sollitto applied Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide (NEW – Coming Fall 2014) to create a flawless complexion. He noted, “This foundation is simple to apply with a wet sponge or your fingers. It’s long wear, oil free and lightweight. In the end it gives you a matte finish so you don’t have to dust your face with loose powder, it’s built in.”

EYES

  • Sollitto applied Laura Mercier Baked Eye Colour in Terracotta ($24) to Adams’ lids and contrasted the look by applying Laura Mercier Baked Eye Colour in Black Karat ($24) under the star’s bottom lashes.
  • To keep Adam’s eyes looking ”bright,” Sollitto dotted his “ideal champagne shade,” Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Sugar Frost ($26) to the inner corners of Adams’ eyes.
  • He applied Nars Eye Paint Liner in Tatar ($25) along the star’s upper lash line to make them “pop.”
  • To finish, he applied Dior Black Out Mascara ($25) to Adams’ lashes.

CHEEKS

  • Sollitto applied the perfect “spring-like blush,” Tom Ford Beauty Cheek Color in Ravish ($56) to create a look “that was flush with color.”

LIPS

  • Sollitto noted that he wanted to achieve a lip look that was “pretty, a little bit rosy and glossy.” He used Laura Mercier Rouge Nouveau Weightless Lip Colour in Cozy ($25) which he described as “having the perfect punch I was looking for.” He then layered Tom Ford Beauty Ultra Shine Lip Gloss in Rose Crush ($45) over it “for a bit of glamour to match the day.”
