Virgin Atlantic and bareMinerals Launch “Upper Class Red”

Virgin Atlantic and bareMinerals are giving passengers a taste of the high life this spring with the creation of a bespoke lip color, bareMinerals Pretty Amazing™ Lipcolor in shade ‘Upper Class Red. The debut of this lip color will mark the launch of the airline’s redesigned Upper Class cabin which takes to the skies this spring.

“Red hot lips have always been a trademark of our cabin crew, signifying the strength and confidence they embody,” noted Rebecca Creer, Senior Spas and Grooming Manager at Virgin Atlantic Airways. “With the launch of ‘Upper Class Red’, one of Virgin Atlantic’s most iconic attributes is finally being made available to passengers. Meaning one swipe of this color is all you need to create a classic and timeless look – something our cabin crew can certainly vouch for!”

The lip color has been specially chosen by bareMinerals with Virgin Atlantic’s cabin crew because of the perfect color match to the ‘Virgin Atlantic Red’. bareMinerals only use the finest quality ingredients in its products and its moisture enriching lip formula make it a firm favorite with Virgin Atlantic’s cabin crew – who have already given it their seal of approval.

“We predict that bareMinerals Pretty Amazing™ Lipcolor in ‘Upper Class Red’, is set to be a popular choice as it’s got the coverage of a lipstick but the high shine effects of a gloss to deliver a full-bodied, velveteen color – a red shade that suits every skin tone,” noted Sarah-Jane Froom, European Makeup Artist at bareMinerals. “It’s also been created with frequent fliers in mind as it includes micronized freshwater pearl powder which hydrates the lips alleviating the effects of cabin air pressure. Plus the comfortable and longwearing finish makes glamour last that bit longer, perfect for long-haul flights.”

To promote the launch of the new color and the new Upper Class Suite all female cabin crew will be wearing the shade onboard the new Upper Class Cabin which launches this spring on the A330 flight from London to New York. Upper Class passengers lucky enough to be traveling onboard the inaugural flight will also receive a sample as a welcome gift to take away with them.

The striking lip color, ‘Upper Class Red’, will be sold exclusively at the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Spa at Heathrow, Gatwick and New York’s JFK International Airport. Passengers who wish to purchase the lip color can do so on board Virgin Atlantic flights through the airline’s inflight shopping guide, Retail Therapy.

Jennifer Lawrence Recycled Cover Shot for IO Donna.

Jennifer Lawrence’s cover on the March issue of Italy’s IO Magazine is from a photo shoot she did for the Canadian Flare magazine in June 2011.  What do you think about magazine reusing cover photos?

The 21-year-old actress  posed for Max Abadian and opened up to IO Magazine about topics such as being discovered at age 14 and where she sees herself a few years from now:

On whether she feels ready for this big change:
“Yes, I’m ready, but also terrified. But then how do you feel ready for something you do not know? I … I’m afraid.”

On being discovered:
“By pure chance. I was 14, I was in New York with my mother, standing on the sidewalk watching a rap-dancer, when a guy with a camera comes up and asks permission to take a picture. ‘Why not?’ my mother says, amused … In New York anything can happen. After a week I got a call at home and was asked to make a commercial. In short, I became a model, but without much enthusiasm. My agent, however, was always there, hammering: ‘Would you rather be a successful model or actress who is starving?’ For goodness sake, I have not had a moment’s hesitation.”

On the runaway success of the ‘Hunger Games’ trilogy:
“We live in a world obsessed with reality shows, we use the personal tragedies to entertain the audience and we want to shock people to succeed.”

On where she sees herself in a few years:
“With a family and many children. Acting is my job, but it is only a small part of my life, certainly not the most important. What really counts for me is to build lasting bonds.”

Mischa Barton Launches Fashion & Beauty Line!

Not sure I ever wanted to take a page from Micha’s style book but for those of you who hankering for the Barton look you are in luck. With prices ranging from $55 for a Ruffle Tee to the $200 Annie Ragamuffin dress or get crazy and splurge for the $350 Aspen Waistcoat . She is also launching a cosmetic and body line with everything from body lotion to lipstick.

Mischa Barton hasn’t exactly been heralded by the fashion elite over the years, but that’s not going to stop her from sharing her, um, unique sartorial sense with the world.

That’s right, due to popular demand the erstwhile O.C. actress had gone and launched not only her own clothing line, but her own e-tail site as well.

Ladies and gentlemen, we give you Mischa’s Place…

Says the British-born starlet: “Together with the help of my Mum Nuala, my inspirations are brought to life using elements of my personal style. Our Collection has grown and developed to reflect the consumer and myself over the seasons, whilst maintaining a consistent theme.

“I hope you enjoy my designs and have as much fun wearing them as I did designing them!”

We’ll give her this: Mischa left no consumer stone unturned. Or unbranded, for that matter. It’s not just clothes and accessories up for sale on the stylista’s site, but Mischa Barton-branded lotions, body butters, soaps, candles and an entire makeup line.

And she’s not stopping there. While the site delivers to the U.S., U.K., Canada, France, Spain, Sweden and Germany right now, there are rumors afoot that Barton has plans to open up a brick-and-mortar store in London later this year.
