Drew Barrymore’s Flower Line Now Available for Purchase!

Photos: Donato Sardella

Drew Barrymore’s new affordable makeup line Flower has just hit shelves in WalMart and we can’t wait to try it! StyleList has taken a look at some of the items she’s offering and pulled them out just for you. Check out there Top 9 products here.

After a stint from 2004 to 2005 as a spokeswoman for Lancôme, Barrymore enlarged her role in beauty at Procter & Gamble Co.’s Cover Girl, where she’s been a face and co-creative director since 2007, and is now taking it a step further by launching Flower, a color cosmetics brand she co-owns with design and manufacturing firm Maesa Group that will enter 1,509 Wal-Mart doors in January.

With Flower, Maesa and Barrymore have committed to transforming the landscape of the beauty industry by offering what Scott Oshry, president, partner and board member at Maesa, described as “true luxury at mass. Once we identified this white space, we thought to ourselves, you know what, we should tackle this. We should build the best color cosmetics brand that we can,” he said.

Flower will be housed in four-foot sections and endcaps at Wal-Mart stores exclusively. It will be available online at walmart.com, too.

Flower will sell 181 stockkeeping units priced from $4.98 to $13.98, including 70 in the face category, 44 in eye, 51 in lip and 16 in nail. The face products contain a proprietary botanical-driven “soft focus complex” to amplify skin’s glow. Maesa emphasized that the formulas are custom-made at the same price as those used in luxury products, meaning the firm spends two to three times what a typical mass beauty marketer does on each product.

Tucker-Moss said Flower’s BB cream is a “true BB cream.” “It is not the new version, which is really a marketing twist. They are tinted moisturizers,” she said. “Ours is an actual treatment cream that addresses everything from blemishes to enlarged pores.” Talking about Powder Up, she continued, “Our loose powder is quadruple milled. Only one factory — ours — has the machine to physically do it. It’s only been at prestige. It’s never been seen at mass before.”

Barrymore elucidated that Ultimate Mascara is a modern take on Maybelline Dial-a-Lash, a favorite makeup product of hers from the Eighties that allowed users to adjust how much mascara they wanted to put on. Ultimate Mascara has three settings for the brush, so users can choose to enhance lashes’ length, thickness or curl — or all three. “If you are feeling thickening one day, just leave it [the brush] scrunched. If you just want lengthening, leave it long, but if you want that amazing, grab it, clump it, thicken it, brush-out quality, you move the wand around,” she said.

Get The Look: Sofia Vergara’s Perfect Purple Eyes at the 2013 SAG Awards

Sofia Vergara’s Screen Actors Guild Awards 2013 Look by Kayleen McAdams
Kayleen wanted to do something fresh and new on Sofia. Her white dress was a bare canvas for her face, and she was able to bring an element of color with a purple eye shadow. It was her first time trying a bright color shadow for an award show.

What do you think of Sofia’s Purple Eye Look?

Face:
I started by applying COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation in Classic Tan (#860) all over Sofia’s face, and then used COVERGIRL + Olay Pressed Powder in Medium along her T-Zone to set the product so it would last all night. I then applied Cheekers Blush is Classic Pink to make her look bright and fresh.

Eyes:
With the eyes, I applied SmokyShadowBlast in Purple Plume all over the lid and then smudged Queen Collection Vivid Impact Eyeliner in Cabernet all along her top and bottom lashes. I finished the look with three coats of Very Black Clump Crusher by LashBlast Mascara. On the lips, I applied LipPerfection Lipliner in Beloved over the entire lip and then topped with the LipPerfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in Rose Twist to give a hint of glossy sheen.

The CoverGirl and Olay products used to create Sofia’s look are available to purchase at your local drugstore.

Get The Look: Julie Bowen at the 2013 SAG Awards in Avon.

Makeup artist Heather Currie complemented Julie’ Bowen’s stunning sultry black leather dress with a subtly sexy cat eye and a soft, romantic pink lip. Here are Heather’s steps to get the look:

Face
Currie kept Julie’s skin looking dewy and fresh by applying Avon Be Blushed Cheek Color in Powder Pink on the apples of her cheeks.

Eyes
Currie used Avon Irresistibly Sexy Eyeshadow Palette in Bombshell to bring depth and smokiness to Julie’s eyes and added a little shimmer to pick up the glimmer of the jewels on Julie’s dress. The inner rims of Julie’s eyes were lined with Avon Glimmersticks Eyeliner in Cosmic Brown, and the tops of her eyelids with Avon Ultra Luxury Eyeliner in Black. She then smudged the black liner into Julie’s eyeshadow to create a subtle cat eye and finished the look with a few coats of Avon SuperExtend Extreme Mascara in Black.

Lip
In order to create a romantic lip that would complete Julie’s look, Currie swiped two coats of Avon’s NEW Totally Kissable lipstick in Lovey Dovey on Julie’s lips. No gloss was used in order to keep the lip color soft and rich at the same time.

All the products used to create Julie’s look are available at www.Avon.com.

Get The Look: Rose Byrne at the 2013 SAG Awards

Inspired by the retro, feminine look of Rose Byrne’s gown, John Frieda International Creative Consultant Harry Josh created a modern take on the classic wave by keeping them controlled, glossy and flat to the head.

Step 1 – Prep

Josh applied a few pumps of the John Frieda Frizz-Ease Thermal Protection Formula Hair Serum ($9.99 at drugstores) through wet hair and blow dried using a large, round bristle brush. “The key to this look is a flawless blowout,” said Josh. ” Her waves need to be completely controlled and any hint of frizz would disrupt the style.”

Step 2 – Style

After sectioning off the hair, Josh wrapped each section around a small curling iron and then carefully brushed it out.

Step 3 – Perfect

Josh finished off the look by applying a sheer coat of John Frieda Frizz-Ease 100% Shine ($5.99 at drugstores) to ensure that her waves glistened when the light from the flash bulbs hit on

Nicole Richie Rocks the “Cut of the Year”!

As you know, “the Chop” has quickly become the cut of the year. The swingy, low-maintenance style is one-length, with a slight layer in the front, and has been turning lots of heads – including that of Suave Professionals® spokeswoman Nicole Richie. The ‘do was most recently spotted on Nicole, who took to the salon chair yesterday to get “chopped.”

Here are Suave Professionals® Stylist Jenny Cho’s tips for creating the unstructured look that is full of shine:

·         For hair that needs an extra boost of shine, use the NEW Suave Professionals® Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil as a shine treatment on dry hair before you shampoo. Divide hair into three sections and apply 2-3 pumps of the Styling Oil to each section. Leave in for 5-7 minutes and shampoo as usual.

·         If your hair has some natural wave and texture, blow dry hair so that it’s only halfway dry, using fingers for a more natural look.  If you need some help with the wave, blow dry hair completely and wrap 1-2 inch sections of hair around a curling iron (alternating each section away from the face and towards the face), leaving ends out for a “messier” texture.  Front sections of hair should be curled away from the face. Tousle curls after they have cooled.

·         Part hair to the side, so that it hangs just slightly in front of face, and finish by adding 1-2 pumps of the NEW Suave Professionals® Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil over the surface of dry hair for radiant shine.
