Yves Saint Laurent has launched a Facebook-inspired eyeshadow palette!

YSL designed the “Pure Chromatics Devoted to Fans” palette with the social network in mind.

The palette includes four shades inspired by Facebook: royal blue, violet, white and black. It was designed as a “declaration of love” to fans, “weaving together the now highly identifiable Facebook blue with the luxurious Yves Saint Laurent design,” according to Kiss and Makeup.

Fashionista confirmed that the Facebook eyeshadow palette will be made available via YSL’s official Facebook page on July 19.

Emily Blunt on her YSL Opium Campaign: “They made a terrible, terrible mistake”

Emily Blunt landed herself one of fashions hottest campaigns, and she’s incredibly humble about the honor.

When she was recently asked why she was chosen as the face of YSL’s Opium fragrance, Blunt told The Telegraph:

‘I don’t know. I’ve no idea,’ she says, wheezing with laughter. ‘There was no one else? They made a mistake, a terrible mistake.’

She says she suggested wearing a dress in the advert rather than the classic Yves Saint Laurent tux. ‘But I got word back, ’ she continues in a perfect French accent, ‘that the leopard trainer says, “If you have flowing fabric around the leopard the leopard will go crazy .” So I said yes to the tux. ’

The ad, which you can watch above, is interesting to me. I think that Emily is very beautiful, don’t get me wrong. But she’s a comedy actress, so it’s hard to see her being seductive. I kept waiting for her to do a flip – and make me laugh…. or something. It looks like it’s on the verge of being something funny (to me).

Emily Blunt is the new face of YSL Opium, and here we have our first look at her new ad!

Blunt, who rose to fashion fame after stealing the show in The Devil Wears Prada , said: “I am very honoured to have been chosen to be the face of Opium by Yves Saint Laurent. I have huge admiration for the House of Yves Saint Laurent and feel that this House has always truly understood the expression of elegance – its mystique and its indescribable power.

“It is a really exciting experience to embody this legendary fragrance, which has stood the test of time without its allure ever being diminished. Being a part of this new campaign and being able to tell the story of this very evocative fragrance is a real thrill.”

Emily Blunt Scores YSL Opium Campaign

Now that gorgeous auburn actress Emily Blunt has been announced as its new face, Yves Saint Laurent’s OPIUM fragrance is about to get a little more spicy.

The 28-year-old British beauty will model for the timeless, classic fragrance in television, print and outdoor ads shot by Romain Gavras and Patrick Demarchelier, respectively.

“I am very honored to have been chosen to be the face of Opium,” Blunt said in a statement. “It is really exciting to embody a fragrance which has stood the test of time without its allure ever being diminished.” (YSL introduced the perfume in 1977.)

“OPIUM is more than a fragrance; it’s a myth that embraces the whole history and values of our House,” added Renaud de Lesquen, President of YSL & Designer Brands. “Over and above her beauty and elegance, we were impressed by the career and artistic options of Emily Blunt.”

This is the first beauty spokesmodel gig for The Adjustment Bureau actress, who’s married to The Office’s John Krasinski. She follows in the footsteps of model Sophie Dahl, who was photographed for the seductive scent in 2000.
