Lola Pin-Up Pout Plumping Lipstick

This lipstick has a soft vanilla scent, and has a slight tingling sensation (from the plumping agent) when I first apply it. I definitely noticed a fullness to my lips, when using this lipstick.  I love the case it has a little pop-out mirror that is tucked away on the side of the tube. It has a small jewel clip that keeps the mirror locked in place. Such a great idea for on the go touch-ups.

The texture is amazing, Marilyn has a rich, creamy texture and it felt great on my lips. It was  hydrating and the richly pigmented color lasted even through a few drinks. I love the Lola Pin-Up lipstick and can’t wait to try more shades.

FairyDrops Mascara

This was my first experience using FairyDrops mascara line.  Developed by a tv personality in Asia who wanted a mascara that would make her eyes pop. She developed a mascara that would give her doll like lashes. FairyDrops mascara includes jojoba seed oil, panthenol, hydrolyzed collagen and saqualane (a naturally occurring moisturizer).

The wand is curved and it really helps coat all my lashes even the tiniest corner lashes. The wand shape also really curls my lashes and separate them all without clumps. The best feature of this mascara is the staying power, the special formula stay all day with no smudging or clumping.

I applied just one coat and it gave great coverage. When I want a more dramatic look I just layer a 2nd coat to really make my eyes pop.

iampur Pain Relieving Rub

iampur Relief Pain Relieving Rub is a topical pain reliever offering fast-acting, temporary topical pain relief for minor muscle and joint pain due to arthritis, backaches, strains, sprains, and bruises. Who is it for: Individuals suffering from minor muscle and joint pain due to arthritis, backaches, strains, sprains, and bruises. Why is it different: Created by a physician and a pharmacist, iampur Relief is formulated with natural active ingredients. How do I use it: Use no more than three times daily. Apply cream to affected areas and thoroughly massage until penetrated. Wash hands with soap and water after use.

The cream was originally designed for people with arthritis, but its great with anyone with aches and pains. A lot of days post workout some muscle on my body is aching and I love using iampur Relief Pain Relieving Rub the cooling sensation is relaxing and refreshing for sore muscles.

LaROCCA Cellular Gold Hydrating Body Balm

A great body balm that will have even the driest skin, soft and smooth.  It intensely moisturizing and leaves my skin glowing.  It works best if you get a small amount and let it emulsify in the warmth of your hand then apply. It has a great light citrus scent and will keep your skin soft and protected.

With an enriching blend of Cupuaçu butter, Shea butter and olive oil, this ultra-rich nourishing balm soothes and melts beautifully into the skin adding intense moisture lasting all day. Dakota Fanning covers the March issue of Glamour Magazine, talks about her Marc Jacobs controversy!

Dakota Fanning lands the March cover of Glamour Magazine. The almost 19-year-old actress continues to try and shed her little-girl imagine, although if you’re wearing a Mickey Mouse sweater, it is rather confusing.

In the article, Dakota opens up about her Marc Jacobs “Oh Lola” perfume advertisement that was banned in the UK for being “sexually provocative”, and how Dakota thinks if you see something wrong with it – then the problem lies with you. (You can see the controversial ad here)

On fame & fashion: “It’s really fun when you’re getting dressed for something. It’s not when you’re in the rain with an umbrella and trying to carry a case of water. Yep, that’s me, alone, coming from Duane Reade. I’m not wearing a bra. Deal with it.”

Being surprised about her Marc Jacobs ad? “Yeah, I was! If you want to read something into a perfume bottle, then I guess you can. But it’s also like, Why are you making it about that, you creep? I love Marc and trust him, and we just laughed about it.”

Could she ever be a fashion designer? “I don’t think so. I mean, I won’t rule it out, because then one day I’ll be like, ‘I said that in Glamour in 2013, and here I am now [with my own line].’ But when you know designers and see the work that they put into making their collection, and how much passion they have for that–I think that’s so amazing. And I don’t have the passion to design clothes. It’s nice to be able to grow up and know what you want to do…. I’m reminded of that every time I make a film.”

On her little sister, Elle: “She’s very uninhibited and will try pretty much anything. Even the way she dresses– she dresses totally for herself. She risks being made fun of…by me, which I sometimes do, because I’m an older sister! But I totally admire her and think she’s very cool.”

I like Dakota, I think she’s very talented. Her younger sister, Elle, is pretty cute as well. I thought these pictures were really pretty. I do think it’s hard to see her as a woman. I think it’s crazy that she’s still just 18… given all she’s done already, it seems like she should be 25 or something!

Marc Jacobs new fragrance ‘Dot’ smells like coconut water and dragon fruit!

I want to smell this so bad! Just the description sounds amazing!

Marc Jacobs, the genius behind my favorite perfume (Lola) is launching a new fragrance! In July of this year, he’ll debut his new perfume, Dot.

I’m in love with the adorable lady-bug themed bottle!

Dot will be the third major scent for Jacobs, who launched Daisy in 2007 and Lola in 2009.

Dot’s dot-bedecked bottle is supposed to evoke a “ladybug with butterflies alighting on it,” which makes us think it’s going to be a super-sweet scent. For those of you who speak Fragrance, Dot has top notes of red berries, dragon fruit and honeysuckle; a heart of jasmine, coconut water and orange blossom and a drydown of vanilla, driftwood and musk.

Coconut water? Like Zico?

Ads for Dot will predictably star an ultra-young model. This time it’s 19-year-old Codie Young, whom you might remember from the Topshop “size zero” controversy fame.

Cannot wait to try it!!

Dakota Fanning’s controversial Marc Jacobs ads banned from the UK

Remember these ads? I posted them back in June when they were released by Marc Jacobs. The controversial ads are back in the public eye today, after the Advertising Standards Authority in the UK banned them, saying that while Dakota Fanning is over 16, the ads are overly sexual for a child.

Apparently the ad, which promotes Jacob’s fragrance ‘Oh Lola!’, was the subject of consumer complaints,  reports Telegraph.

The British Advertising Standards Authority has cracked down on the ad, which features a 17-year-old Fanning with an oversized bottle of the fragrance between her legs, after receiving complaints that the company was turning Fanning, a minor, into a sex object. Their statement:

“We noted that the model was holding up the perfume bottle which rested in her lap between her legs and we considered that its position was sexually provocative. We understood the model was 17 years old but we considered she looked under the age of 16. We considered that the length of her dress, her leg and position of the perfume bottle drew attention to her sexuality. Because of that, along with her appearance, we considered the ad could be seen to sexualise a child.”The Guardian reports that Coty, who makes the fragrance, doesn’t have the same problems with the ads, because most readers of the magazines featuring the ads are 25 or older, and that the picture was “similar to many other edgy images in those magazines.” They also stated that the ad doesn’t show any “private body parts or sexual activity,” and defended the ad as “provoking, but not indecent.”

What do you think of the ad? Is it too much? Does it deserve to be banned?
