Dark circles under your eyes?

cover_dark_circles.jpg

Banish those under eye blues with the two-steps-to-pretty approach. First, dab on a light-reflecting primer to brighten things up. It dazzles and distracts so you won’t need as much concealer!

Next, grab a peach- or yellow-toned concealer. Peach wipes out blue hues and yellow cancels purple. Also, don’t forget that dark circles are called circles for a reason, says Sephora Beauty Pro Vanessa Dunn. She recommends dotting concealer all the way around your eye, making sure to get your lids, edges, and that little spot between the corner of your eye and the side of your nose.

Bingo! Eyes that say, “Eight hours every night“…even if it isn’t.

Here comes the sun!

screenshot007.jpg

We are finally having our first hot streak of the year in Oregon with temps climbing close to 100 by the weekend. In my younger days I would have grabbed some oil and found a place to lay out and absorb all the sun I could. Now that I am a little older and my 31st birthday is looming only 3 days away I am much more careful about my skins exposure to the sun.

To keep from looking like the grandma on Something about Mary I am now trying to be vigilant to have all of my skin protected from the harmful UV rays while I am out enjoying the weather. I just found a great kit from Sephora with everything you need to keep your skin healthy this summer with some great travel sized products. A great way to try some different products to find what works the best for you before you go for the full sized. Even better $21.55 from every kit sold will benefit the Skin Cancer Foundation!

Thanks to Lisa N. from Tigard, OR for the question,

I recently turned 30 and I have started to notice little wrinkles developing around my eyes and on my forehead. What can I do to stop the wrinkles and prevent future wrinkles from starting?

Well Lisa, first and foremost make sure you DON’T leave the house without at least SPF 15 on your face and stay away from tanning beds. I have listed a few of my favorite anti-aging products that have made a major reduction in my wrinkles.

I recently fell in love with a sample of Cosmedicine’s MegaDose skin fortifying system. I headed to Sephora to check out the line but the $80 sticker price was a little much to swallow for the full size version of MegaDose especially right after the Holidays. I found this First Measures kit with a decent sized bottle of Megadose and 4 other products from their line and decided to try it.

The rest of the line is just as amazing as the MegaDose serum. The standouts in the kit for me is the eye cream with light diffusers and the Medi-Matte oil control lotion. This is a great intro to the Cosmedicine line and a more affordable way to try multiple products.

I recently ordered a little purse from Sephora that came loaded with samples but I think it was a big mistake. I now have a bunch of new products that I love and I am going to need to start selling my vital organs to pay for my beauty addiction! One of my new faves is Cosmedicine’s MegaDose skin fortifying serum I applied it after my normal morning cleansing routine and the first thing I noticed was it smells pretty harsh, kind of like perm solution. I was a little afraid I was going to stink all day but the smell went away really quickly. Once the serum had dried my skin felt really moisturized but the best part was how smooth my face was and my pores were a lot less noticeable.
