Avon names Irina Shayk Global Beauty Ambassador
This morning, Avon officially named international supermodel Irina Shayk as the brand’s new Global Beauty Ambassador. Irina will not only serve as a global spokesperson for Avon Makeup, but appear in upcoming beauty campaigns and Avon brochures.

A native of a small village in Russia, Irina has never forgotten her roots, all the while appearing in US and international editions of magazines like Cosmopolitan, GQ, Elle and Harper’s Bazaar. When she’s not walking the runway or appearing in international advertising campaigns, she’s managing her charity which helps children and families in need in Russia.

While her exterior beauty is obvious, Irina’s kindness and charity are a huge asset—Avon is proud to be working with a women so gorgeous inside and out.

ELLE: What does Viva smell like?
Fergie: Viva is very fresh, very cool, and it’s meant to be a wake-up call to embrace the power women have within themselves. It’s about taking charge and really taking life by the horns.

ELLE: How does that ‘take charge’ attitude connect to where you are now, personally?
Fergie: For me, that meant getting more involved in my business affairs and embracing that part of me. The empowered woman that I am has always been there, in different levels. But this [campaign], specifically, was about being a powerful businesswoman.

ELLE: We thought maybe you were going to say, “It’s when I first wore shoulder pads on Kids Incorporated.” Because, you know, that was a major fashion moment.
Fergie: Wow, thank you! I guess deep down, I always knew I was empowered!

ELLE: Why did you name this fragrance Viva?
Fergie: Because it’s about living! First of all, it’s a nod to my Latin friends around the world, because obviously “Viva” is Spanish. And Viva is about embracing your life and making your own set of rules—creating your path and owning it.


ELLE: Both Viva and your other perfume, Outspoken, have hints of leather in their smells. What’s so exciting about leather for you?
Fergie: Leather adds a bit of rock ‘n’ roll to it!

Makeup artist Heather Currie complemented Julie’ Bowen’s stunning sultry black leather dress with a subtly sexy cat eye and a soft, romantic pink lip. Here are Heather’s steps to get the look:

Face
Currie kept Julie’s skin looking dewy and fresh by applying Avon Be Blushed Cheek Color in Powder Pink on the apples of her cheeks.

Eyes
Currie used Avon Irresistibly Sexy Eyeshadow Palette in Bombshell to bring depth and smokiness to Julie’s eyes and added a little shimmer to pick up the glimmer of the jewels on Julie’s dress. The inner rims of Julie’s eyes were lined with Avon Glimmersticks Eyeliner in Cosmic Brown, and the tops of her eyelids with Avon Ultra Luxury Eyeliner in Black. She then smudged the black liner into Julie’s eyeshadow to create a subtle cat eye and finished the look with a few coats of Avon SuperExtend Extreme Mascara in Black.

Lip
In order to create a romantic lip that would complete Julie’s look, Currie swiped two coats of Avon’s NEW Totally Kissable lipstick in Lovey Dovey on Julie’s lips. No gloss was used in order to keep the lip color soft and rich at the same time.
