Many actresses have played the iconic Marilyn Monroe on screen. Now we can add Jessica Chastain to the list!

The actress has just signed on to play Marilyn in the upcoming biopic, ‘Blonde.’

The Zero Dark Thirty actress is closing a deal to star in director Andrew Dominik’s biopic, reports The Wrap. Brad Pitt’s Plan B and Worldview Entertainment will produce the adaptation of Joyce Carol Oates’s 2001 novel of the same name. The story takes biographical and historical sources to paint an intimate picture of the inner life of Norma Jeane Baker.

Dominik wrote the script for Blonde, which was first announced in 2010. The director previously worked on Killing Them Softly and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

Chastain will be seen in the upcoming Miss Julie, Interstellar and Crimson Peak.

Jessica looked very Marilyn Monroe-ish in ‘The Help.’ I think she’s a great pick for the role, and I can’t wait to see what she does with the role!

Wow. An odd choice on the surface but actually perfect when you think about it.

I’m beyond happy that that wannabe Marilyn Lindsay Lohan didn’t get this role!

She is a great actress but doesn’t remind me that much of Monroe, I’m sure she’ll nail it still.

Is there anything we do not know about Marilyn’s private life already?
