Friday is National “Don’t Fry Day!”

Every single year I have one good burn. You know, the first burn of the summer. It’s like my right of passage into summer. Every single time I do it, I also have to hear about it from my husband. It just drives him CRAZY! Why do I let myself burn once a year? I don’t know – it’s just always been that way, long as I can remember? I burn once, then not again the whole summer. I don’t think that’s too bad, right?

WRONG. I have got to stop doing this to my skin!! When I saw this alert in my email box this morning – I thought I need to protect myself better – skip that ‘first burn’! I love Aveeno products as well. I trust them to keep me covered (no pun intended)!

The Friday before Memorial Day – May 24, 2013 – has been designated as “Don’t Fry Day” to encourage sun safety awareness and to remind everyone to protect their skin while enjoying the outdoors.

Because no single step can fully protect you and your family from overexposure to UV radiation, the National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention encourages individuals to:

• Generously Apply Sunscreen

• Seek Shade

• Wear Sun-Protective Clothing

• Use Extra Caution Near Water, Snow and Sand

• Get Vitamin D Safely

• Not Burn or Tan
