Believe it or not, in a time when everyone and their dog has their own fragrance, Louis Vuitton has yet to jump onto the bandwagon. But that’s all about to change!
More from Elle!
The storied French house has allegedly hired Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud, a perfumer whose family has worked in fragrance for almost as long as Vuitton has worked in luggage. Belletrud’s the nose behind a handful of well known scents including Stella McCartney’s eponymous fragrance, Dior’s Addict and Jean Paul Gaultier’s Classic and has, according to WWD, been busy sourcing “rare, almost-extinct flowers” for the Vuitton perfume.
Though a creative director of a brand as massive as Vuitton may not have much to do with whatever signature scent blooms from the label, they are associated with the look of the perfume and given the two very different people who may or may not be at the head of the house within six months—Marc Jacobs or, as rumored, Phoebe Philo if Marc goes to Dior—we can’t help but picture two opposing bottles, boxes and celebratory launches.
Can’t wait to smell it!
