Japan’s “greatest living artist” designs Juicy Tubes for Lancome!

She’s been called the Princess of Polka Dots, and indeed, over the course of her astounding 60-year career, Yayoi Kusama has blanketed canvases and soft sculptures with them; she’s splashed them floor-to-ceiling in her celebrated installations; she’s polka-dotted tree trunks (notably, at the 2006 Singapore Biennale)—and, during her legendary performance pieces, even people. Now, the avant-garde painter/sculptor/novelist and poet—widely acknowledged as Japan’s greatest living artist—has moved on to . . .lip gloss. In a limited-edition collaboration with Lancôme, Kusama has created six whimsical, polka dot–heavy designs for the brand’s beloved Juicy Tubes, in a new formula free of preservatives and rich in Hungarian honey and shea butter. $15 each, at Nordstrom.
