The female population is divided between gloss lovers and lipstick devotees. That is, until now where advances in formulations will make you want to swing both ways! The editors of Women’s Health magazine break down which type you should swipe on.
Where to Wear It:
Lipstick: Whenever you want to look put together- evening, work, etc.
Gloss: On weekends or nights out; whenever you want to focus on eye-makeup. You don’t want to look too done up.
Lipstick: Precise application ensures that your mouth looks defined and lips become less pronounced.
Gloss: Tricks lips into looking fuller and more voluptuous, by applying a dab of clear gloss on the center of your bottom lip.
Lipstick: On average, it only stays put for about 2 hours. Variables such as the steam in coffee or grease in potato chips shorten the time span. Different breeds are now evolving which contain polymers that build a top-coat and will fight to keep it from wearing off.
Gloss: The lifespan is very brief so try one that look like a lip pencil, but also give off a glaze like traditional gloss. To help with color, try moisturizing with Shea butter before applying gloss.
