Michelle Obama was representing America at a state dinner hosting the man who is one of her husband’s biggest rivals on the world stage.

But the First Lady has once again made a daring fashion choice, appearing instead last night in a fiery red gown by British designer Alexander McQueen.

The Obamas were hosting Chinese president Hu Jintao at an elaborate state dinner in Washington last night- and Mrs Obama’s fashion choice was not the only controversial thing on the menu.
