Hollywood Style Awards 2010: A night without fashion?

I am a little shocked at some of the outfits from the Hollywood Style Awards from over the weekend. It might just be me but quite a few of the outfits seemed like a major miss. With a Style Award event I expected either classic looks or maybe something fun and shocking but most of the outfits just look off.

Her hair and makeup are flawless but the dress looks like it doesn’t fit her correctly and I just don’t get the dress in general.

Okay all in fairness this might have looked perfect in person but the pictures aren’t doing the beautiful Kate and justice. I like the casual t-shirt with skirt but I think the hair is a little too severe for this outfit.

I am pretty sure I wore the same dress in high school and it didn’t look good in the 90′s either.

I adore Zooey she is a great actress and singer and she usually has such an effortless fun style. But her outfit is beyond boring she is simply gorgeous but in this Puritan dress and opaque tights she is a bonnet away from a Thanksgiving meal reenactment.

Tattoo socks the new rage?

I’m in LOVE with Etsy. Love, love it! It’s a website for vendors to sell their handmade goods. You can find anything, and I mean anything, on Etsy. I probably purchased half my Christmas presents on the website. It’s the perfect place to get unique gifts for those family and friends who are hard to shop for!

While browsing around – I found a vendor who sells Tattoo socks! With over 6,000 maybe this duo is on to something! Gabby and Tal create these Tattoo Socks (which are really just nylons) in Tel Aviv – and ship internationally. At around $20, you can afford to get that girl in your life a pretty unique gift!

What do you think? Do you love them? Hate them?

Natalie Portman is the new face of Miss Cherie Dior fragrance!

But the decision to take accept the beauty endorsement didn’t come easily.

“To be honest, I had an aversion to selling things,” she explains to Women’s Wear Daily, “and then I realized both that there could be a company that I would be proud to represent, and also that they would really support the things I believe in.”

She says she went back and forth trying to decide whether to commit. “It definitely was a war inside my head for a long time and, finally, I was like, we can actually do something very positive with this, especially given the kind of company Dior is, which is truly elegant. It’s been exactly along the lines of what I had hoped for.”

Portman, a vegan, was also pleased that the French fashion and beauty house took into account what’s important to her. “One of the things that’s been so nice is that Dior made all of the shoes for me with no animals and no leather or anything, because I don’t wear any leather. They remade all my shoes so I can wear Dior shoes without taking lives.”

Sponsored Post: Womanity

I was at Macy’s the other day – and I stopped by the fragrance counter, and wanted to try Womanity by Thierry Mugler. I really love this new fragrance!

Five years ago, Thierry released his beloved fragrance Alien. Womanity, the highly anticipated new fragrance, was released in June!

WWD reports that Womanity is “a made-up word meant to associate with femininity, humanity and city.”

“Mugler, buttressed by focus groups, sees the evolving quest of women as a drive to express themselves and their ideas. He created a Web site, Womanity.com, as a platform for dialogue. The more women connected with each other, according to Mugler’s perception, the more creativity is released.”

“In order to create content for the site, one idea is to provide the beginning of a story that will be finished by different women, each writing their own page. A contest will solicit ideas from women for a particular project or cause. The winner will work with Mugler in completing it.”

The pink bottle has an Art Deco-inspired top and is meant to appeal to women of all ages. The juice itself was developed by Mane and combines both sweet and savory notes of fig and caviar. In a nod to the environment, the bottle is refillable and the packaging uses minimal cardboard.

Jocelyn’s Christmas Must-Have Number 2!

I’m saving my favorites products for last. This thermo-reactive intense nutrition masque from Kerastase is out-of-this-world amazing. I’ve used this twice now, and I can literally feel the difference for almost a week. It’s pricey – but let me just say, you get A LOT for your money, and it doesn’t take a lot when you use it. I guess this would last you 6 months. LOOOOVE IT! $60.00
