Why Eclipse’s Kristen Stewart Dyed Her Hair Lighter

Although Kristen Stewart, 20, is currently traveling the world to promote The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (out Wednesday), the actress is already gearing up for her next role in the film adaptation of a classic Jack Kerouac novel.

“Kristen is preparing to play Mary Lou in the 1950′s drama, On the Road,” her stylist, Frederic Fekkai’s Adir Abergel, tells UsMagazine.com. “I wanted to bring her hair closer to her natural color: blonde.”

To achieve the “flirty and feminine” hue, Adir teamed up with Clairol celebrity stylist Marie Robinson and pulled images from the ’50s for inspiration.

Stewart debuted her new look during a Monday appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.

I think she looks stunning with this hair color! She should keep it!

Get the Look: Miranda Cosgrove Despicable Me premiere

Miranda Cosgrove wore a deep purple dress that had a rock and roll vibe, but with a fun flirty twist, to her Despicable Me premiere in Los Angeles yesterday.

Coleen Campbell-Olwell – make-up artist for Miranda Cosgrove (Tips below):

I wanted the makeup to be romantic with an edge, so I chose to play up her eyes using Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Duo in Sugar Plum. I swept the base shade over her lid and then applied the accent color along the entire top lash line and only to the outer part of her lower lash line which gives the eyes an instant “lift”.

I then smudged Neutrogena Nourishing Eyeliner in Cosmic Black along the top lashline, which really makes your eyes smoulder! I always reach for Neutrogena Healthy Lengths Mascara in Carbon Black because it lengthens your lashes without the clumps!

To keep her skin glowing without the shine, I blended Neutrogena Healthy Skin Oil Free foundation in Natural Ivory and then swept Neutrogena SkinClearing Oil Free pressed powder also in Natural Ivory.

For the final touch I applied Neutrogena MoistureShine Gloss in Berry Fit to Miranda’s pout. It’s a perfect shade for summer!

Get the Look: Dakota Fanning Eclipse Premiere

Dakota Fanning’s GET THE LOOK for the ECLIPSE red carpet premiere event in Los Angeles

June 24th 2010

Dakota Fanning’s make-up artist Sammy Mourabit used the following Neutrogena products/cosmetics and he provided key tips to re-create her look:

First I moisturized Dakota’s skin using Neutrogena new Healthy Defense SPF 50 Liquid Moisturizer (great protection and it layers invisibility under make-up providing a broad spectrum sun protection and moisturization).  (Tip: I used a wet sponge to apply the Neutrogena moisturizer in order to create a dewy look).

I covered any little imperfections under Dakota’s eyes using: Neutrogena Skin Clearing Blemish Concealer mixed with the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector.  Dakota only 16 years old does have perfect skin, so I have no need to use any foundation just yet which is why I created this mix as needed for just the eye area specifically.

I controlled the T-Zone shine by using the Neutrogena Skin Clearing Mineral Powder (in Classic Ivory).

I used a little touch of Neutrogena Healthy Skin Custom Glow Blush and Bronzer (Tip: I use my wet and moisturized sponge to perfectly blend the blush with her skin. It creates a natural and fresh look).

Neutrogena Healthy Lengths Mascara in black/brown is great mascara, easy to apply and rich in pigment yet not too dark.

I used on her lips, Neutrogena MoistureShine (Glisten #20) gloss.  Glosses are much more appropriate for Dakota’s age range and leave her lip moisturized and shining.

This is how I achieved this young, fresh, edgy but yet modern look on Dakota’s face.

Louis Vuitton Jumps On The Temporary Tattoo Bandwagon

Luxury brand Louis Vuitton has jumped on the temporary tattoo bandwagon.

Back in January Chanel paved the way with their temporary tattoos (which I think are kind of hot). Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton have teamed up to make your body look like a piece of luggage.

Louis Vuitton’s neck tattoos takes a gothic approach thanks to its collaboration with New York-based artist Scott Campbell, according to a news post on High Snobriety.

Luxury brand loyalty is purchasing the latest renditions of your Chanel 2.55 handbag, Hermes Birkin, or the Louis Vuitton monogram tote. But why carry the burden of love when you can simply slap the famous design where people will really see it? With the sudden buzz surrounding temporary tattoos — thanks no doubt to Chanel’s effort in making it haute — Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton are taking it to the streets and to your neck. That’s right, lets test your brand loyalty now. The new tattoos debuted at the brand’s Spring 2011 menswear fashion show.

I’m not a fan, but I’m not a fan of the LV logo. Maybe I’ve seen too many fakes, it just looks trashy/cheap to me.

Jessica Simpson: I’ve “Shocked My System” With “Clean” Diet

“Shocked my system with a vegan diet, special Pu-erh tea from China, and cupping since friday!” Jessica Simpson wrote Sunday night. (Pu-erh tea is widely touted as a weight-loss drink.)

The giddy-sounding Price of Beauty host added: “Who am I right now? This might be too clean!”

A few minutes later, 29-year-old Simpson, who tried out meditation in the Far East while filming The Price of Beauty, extolled the virtues of cupping, an ancient Chinese ritual in which cups are therapeutically applied to the skin in a practice similar to accupressure.

“Has anyone ever tried cupping? When u know you are doing something good for ur body the meditation creates intense visions,” she raved. “Love it!”

She then explained that she had worked with “Master Wang the healer” over the weekend, adding links to MedicineBuddha.com and Zenandtea.com.

Update: Simpson then explained: “Just so everyone is clear.. this has NOTHING to do with weight! It is about understanding my body through hydration and alkalinty.”

Summer Makeup Tips!

The following are makeup tips for the summer from makeup artist Gayle Brewer, owner of Celia Caserta, Inc., Los Angeles.

Summer is officially here. And, it’s time for new looks in makeup.

Many women like bright colors for summer makeup, but I think less is more particularly for younger women and teens. I recommend that sticking to neutrals during hot summer months. Here are some makeup suggestions to achieve a fresh, sun-kissed look.

Pare an eggshell eye shadow such as Two Faced from Natural Eye Collection with dramatic, but not false, eye lashes. Get them using very dark mascara such as Maybelline’s Great Lash Mascara. It is the darkest black I have found, it stays on longer, and it does not clump. To keep with the natural look, use brown eyeliner under the eyes. Try MAC Earthlink, it is a lighter shade that still adds depth to eyes.

Another good MAC product for a more dramatic night time look is Rapid Black Liquid for the upper lids. It is sharp, not messy. It works like a Sharpee so there is no need to keep dipping the applicator into the liquid which can make it difficult to form thin, uniform lines.

Go for pink shimmery cheeks, with the same color lipstick and gloss. Or, try NARS Orgasm Bronzer (Saphora) as a blush and lipstick. On cheeks, it makes skin look moist while giving it a healthy glow. And, the color is great for lips! It is very natural and its stays on longer than lipstick.

During the summer avoid heavy foundation. It will make you look too overdone on hot, humid days. A tinted moisturizer, the same color as your skin, will even out the skin tone, while looking natural. If you need more cover, use a little bit of regular foundation, not powder. MAC Face and Body—Beach Days looks nice or, if you need more staying power, try Laura Mercier products.

There are several types of body bronzers that work well for achieving a sun-kissed look. Hula Bronze body makeup has good staying power. Michael Kors Body Bronzer is little darker, making it nice for legs and arms. It is a deodorant-like stick so the application is easy for days at the beach.

These products all have sunblock in them but always remember to apply sunblock first thing in the morning and reapply if you go into the water or exercise.
