New from Laura Geller: Moonshadows Sugared Baked Pearl Eyeshadow

firewater.jpgmidnightmagic.jpg

These new eyeshadows are freaking awesome!!! Look how gorgeous they are!! They look just as spectacular on as they do here! Love, love, love these new colors!!!

What is it: Just like the moon, this beautiful duo combines a light side–Laura’s shimmery sugared baked pearl eye shadow–and a dark side–her popular eye rimz. Eye Rimz is a highly pigmented formula in pitch black that–when applied wet and swirled with vibrant color–helps create a more metallic shade. Fire Water is an eye shadow with a soft champagne glow combined with Eye Rimz in pitch black with turquoise shimmer. Midnight Magic is an eye shadow in a soft, luminous pink combined with Eye Rimz in pitch black with a dark-plum shimmer.

Who is it for: Suitable for all skin tones and types.

Why is it different: This product’s beauty is all thanks to the unique baking process where creamy pigment is poured onto terra-cotta pans and baked slowly for 24 hours. The result is a dome of extremely fine powder that gets hand-polished into a tablet of powder that goes on smoother, feels silkier, and adapts perfectly to any skin tone.

How do I use it: For a look that’s strongly defined and professionally polished, start by smoothing the pale shadow over your lid from lash line to crease. Then stroke a thick line of the dark Eye Rimz along your top and/or bottom lash lines. You can extend the line up and out for added drama. For a sleek, metallic look, apply Eye Rimz with a wet brush.

From Laura Geller.

Zoya launches their Spring 2010 line: Reverie!

zoya-reverie-spring-2010-bottles.jpg

Zoya, which is the only nail polish brand I’ll wear – has launched a new line of gorgeous polishes, just in time for Spring!

Reverie is a lineof six beautiful metallic polishes. The thing I love most about Zoya polishes, is that they actually look better on your nails than they do in the bottles. The color is just amazing. It is so vibrant and bold – and the metallic is just right. I’ve played around with the colors, and I think Reese (second from the right) is my favorite.

Zoya nail polishes go on so smoothly, rarely chip, and come off easily. If you haven’t tried Zoya’s polishes yet, then now’s the perfect time to start!

There truly is an iphone app for everything now.

iphone-app-plastic-surgery.jpg

It seems like everyday brings a new iPhone App, but never has the world seen something quite like this. Dr. Michael Salzhauer, author of “My Beautiful Mommy,” a children’s book explaining the phases of plastic surgery, introduces iSurgeon.

iSurgeon is an innovative App that combines personal image modification with high tech gaming features. According to Dr. Salzhauer, “iSurgeon serves a dual purpose, offering those interested in cosmetic surgery treatments a clear visual of what they would look like post-surgery, while also providing a fun entertaining game tool that allows the user to play the role of a plastic surgeon.”

New York, NY (January 5, 2009) – The new age of technology has revolutionized the way people communicate, socialize, and pass the time. One of the most popular technology tools utilized by everyone from magazine editors to high school kids is image modification. The use of photo editing programs has created a new “instant makeover” obsession: people want to see how they would look with new hair, larger breasts, or an improved nose.

Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Salzhauer, author of famed children’s book “My Beautiful Mommy” is introducing the most advanced beauty makeover App to the iTunes store: iSurgeon. Recently debuted in December 2009, iSurgeon is an innovative App for the iPhone/iPod Touch, which combines personal image modification with high tech gaming features.

According to Dr. Salzhauer, “the iTunes App Store was lacking a truly useful and well-designed beauty makeover App. iSurgeon delivers on the promise of realistic photo alterations while also allowing users to partake in plastic surgery games playing the role of a surgeon.”

iSurgeon features two modes: Game Mode and Advanced Surgery Mode. Both include procedures Dr. Salzhauer offers in his own Miami practice including: nose jobs, breast augmentations, cheek implants, tummy tucks, liposuctions, face lifts, lip enhancements, and ear reshaping. For a limited time, the iSurgeon App’s lite version is available for FREE and the pro version retails for $0.99. iSurgeon will soon retail $0.99 for the lite version and $1.99 for the pro version.

“iSurgeon serves a dual purpose, providing those interested in cosmetic surgery treatments with a clear visual of what they would look like post-surgery, while also providing a fun entertaining game tool” says Dr. Salzhauer.

Game Mode

The Game Mode gives you the opportunity to play a plastic surgeon, “operating” on any of the four pre-programmed images to enhance their cosmetic appearance. Before each “surgery” procedure, users can tap the “hint” button on their screen to view an image of their “patients” desired results. The goal of the game is to emulate the desired look as closely as possible. Using the iPhone/iPod Touch’s touch screen capabilities, the user will be able to modify the subject’s physical appearance, scoring points for each successful enhancement. Game Mode is complete with realistic sound effects.

Advanced Surgery Mode

Long gone are the days of staring in the mirror wondering what you’d look like with a smaller nose or fuller lips! During the Advanced Surgery Mode, you can modify images taken with your iPhone/iPod Touch or images already stored in your phone of yourself or friends. Within seconds, you can see what you would look like after various cosmetic surgeries without leaving your front door. Available at your fingertips, the Advanced Surgery Mode provides results in seconds. Additionally, Facebook and email are conveniently built into the App allowing you to quickly share results.

First look at Vanessa Paradis in new Chanel campaign

chanellipstick1.jpg

They say lipstick sales are “recession proof” – in fact – sales usually go up. Why? Because it’s an inexpensive way to look beautiful and freshen up your look. Chanel is taking note and bringing lipstick back to a young customer base that is infatuated with lip gloss. This March, Chanel is introducing Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour – and bringing back the lost art of sexily applying your lipstick.

Vanessa Paradis, the French actress (and Johnny Depp’s leading lady) is the face of the campaign and this is not the first time Paradis has worked with Chanel. Andrea D’Avack, president of Chanel Fragrance & Beauté, stated: “Vanessa has been very linked to the house over the years, and she represents a young, sophisticated woman who we also believe will be the consumer for Rouge Coco.” Print and TV ads have been shot though it’s still unclear whether TV spots will be placed in the U.S.

The Rouge Coco line has 30 shades and each hue is named after an influential part of Coco Chanel’s life – Camelia, Mademoiselle, and Paris – to name a few. The shades come in one of four color families Roses-Pinks; Reds-Corals; Violets-Berries, and Neutrals-Browns and will be available in different global markets.

Like many Chanel cosmetics, the packaging takes it’s cue from Chanel’s history with black and gold detailing, interlocking C’s and the Chanel name embossed into each lipstick bullet. The Rouge Coco collection debuts in March with each lipstick retailing for $30 at fine retailers including Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales and Chanel.com.

Kim Kardashian launches a new fragrance!

gallery_enlarged-kim-kardashian.jpg

Kim Kardashian took to her website to announce the launch of her new fragrance, named after herself.

The fragrance is now officially listed exclusively on Sephora’s website! It is available in two large sizes, perfect for your dresser, a ‘to go’ bottle that fits easily into your purse, and a rollerball! You can’t buy it until Feb, but if you sign up on their website you can get an email alert when it becomes available!

This was one of the most exciting projects I’ve been involved in because I got to be so hands on every step of the process from choosing scents, to designing the bottle and the accent features. You guys even helped me pick the pink bottle accents that really make the black bottle pop!

More exciting news to come surrounding the fragrance launch so stay tuned! :)

I’m not into celebrity fragrances (I won’t ever purchase a celeb fragrance, call me crazy) but if you are – you can go here to pre-order from Sephora!

Kim Kardashian drives me nuts. She is EVERYWHERE right now. Too overexposed, if you ask me!
