Embrace your natural curls like Beyonce but avoid frizz by simply adding an anti-frizz serum to your morning hair routine. “I start off by adding a bit of Sebastian Potion 9 Lite Lightweight Wearable-Treatment Styler ($14; beautyencounter.com) to damp hair,” says celebrity hairstylist Jeremy Clark, who then gently scrunches the hair while blow drying on low with a diffuser. “Don’t comb it out!” he stresses. “Let it be natural and sexy.”

“Get the Look”- Hayden Panettiere’s Movie Premiere‏

Hayden Panettiere at the 2009 “I Love You, Beth Cooper” Screening

Makeup Artist Amy Oresman collaborated with NEUTROGENA® brand ambassador Hayden Panettiere to create the starlet’s look for the New York City premiere of “I Love You, Beth Cooper”, and now shares how you can achieve this gorgeous look on your own:

Inspiration:

Hayden’s look was inspired by old Hollywood glamour – with a new young twist. This is one of my favorite makeup looks for a starlet. It’s sexy and subtle.

Eyes:

I wanted to create a subtle smoky eye that wouldn’t fight with the bright juicy lip we were planning on using on Hayden. To create this look I started by using NEUTROGENA® Nourishing Eye Quad in Blue Smoke, this created a subtle smoke to the eye by using graphites and blues, which are not as harsh as black. I then framed the eye with NEUTROGENA® Nourishing Eyeliner in Cosmic Black, which has a slight glossy sheen creating just a hint of drama around the perimeter of the eye. I topped the look off with NEUTROGENA® Healthy Volume Black Mascara. This look is all about lashes and lips. This mascara is perfect for the three coats of mascara used to create ultra volume.

Face:

I used NEUTROGENA® Sun Fresh Sunless Lotion to blend Hayden’s tan lines in her one-shouldered red-carpet frock. I evened out Hayden’s glow with NEUTROGENA® Healthy Skin Blends Natural Radiant Bronzer.

Lips:

The highlight of this look was the lip. With those lips we could really go for it… and we did! I chose NEUTROGENA® MoistureShine lipstick in Poppy Red. This lipstick is the perfect combination of fuchsia and red and because Hayden’s dress was all white, we really wanted a vibrant splash of color on the lip.

Top 10 Beauty Foods

blueberry.jpg

Chow down on antioxidant- and zinc-rich oysters, dark chocolate, and blueberries for a clear complexion.

BEAUTY BITES

1. Wild salmon: A primo source for omega-3 fatty acids, which reduce skin inflammation, preventing redness, wrinkles, and loss of firmness. It’s also potent in antioxidants and vitamins B and D.

2. Low-fat yogurt: In one word, calcium. Good for strong bones, nails, and teeth. One cup of plain low-fat yogurt has more calcium than a glass of skim milk.

3. Oysters: The best source of zinc, period. Zinc helps build collagen, which supports the structure of skin and speeds up renewal and repair.

4. Blueberries: Full of antioxidants and anti-inflammatories that prevent long-term cell damage.

5. Kiwifruit: Another good source of antioxidants, kiwis are also a great source of vitamin C and potassium, all which help prevent wrinkles.

6. Sweet potatoes: Chock-full of beta-carotene, something the body converts to vitamin A, which keeps skin smooth and is thought to protect against sun damage.

7. Spinach: This nutrient-dense leafy green is a great source of beta-carotene and lutein, which protects the eyes.

8. Tomatoes: Perhaps the only vegetable best eaten processed. Tomatoes are a major source of lycopene, a potent antioxidant also thought to protect against sunburn.

9. Walnuts: A key source of omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E. The omega-3s found in walnuts also help fight against skin ailments like psoriasis and eczema.

10. Dark chocolate: Full of antioxidants and nutrients, cocoa (choose chocolate with at least 60 percent cocoa) increases blood flow to the skin, which in turn boosts hydration, smoothness, and protection against sun exposure.

Gold Eye Makeup: Everybody’s Wearing It

It appears that gold is becoming kind of a big thing in Hollywood right now.

Beyonce went for it over the weekend:

Reader Review: Physicians Formula Plump Potion for Lips

screenshot002.jpg

Thank you to Yvette for the review! We always love to hear beauty hits and misses from our fabulous readers so let us know what your have been trying out and how its working.

I’ve been looking for a “natural” way to have younger, fuller lips. I already have medium to full-size lips, but I’m in my early 30s and can already begin to see the signs of some lines and lack of time to get in the sun. I purchased the clear version of the Physcian’s Formula Plump Potion for Lips. I absolutely love the way my lips look and felt, but I can’t stand the smell. It’s peppery and smokey and makes me actually quite nauseous. I thought it was just me and tried to get over it, but I just can’t any longer (after 4 wears). I’ve read other similar reviews, and others about it’s taste, so I’m not alone. It didn’t seem to taste badly to me. Back to the drawing board.
