Erin’s Pick #4

Have you been wanting to get a gift your sure she doesn’t have? Something that can save time and be fun? Try ColorOn…Professional Instant Eye ShadowApplicators, something fun and new she will be the first to try. These kits make a great gift or stocking stuffer and you can choose one of the bestseller kits or create your own.

I was skeptical when I first tried this some of the pictures on the website looked like it might be heavier than I like and I wondered about the cost. I have been using eyeshadow for over 16 years and while I am pretty good I still have issues creating the perfect smoky eye. I tried the Ibiza (shown above) shade first and it was really easy to apply it looked a bit dark at first but it was really easy to adjust the shade with the brush or your finger. Once it looked perfect I used the setting powder and it turned the eyeshadow into the perfect matte look and it stayed put until I washed it off.

I really love these kits and can’t wait to try more, one of the great things I found is the applicators have so much pigment you can use them at least 5 times and the color is as perfect the 5th time as it is the 1st.

Ok, this is ridiculous.

It’s like, 2-3 colours max per sheet and with so few colours, it’s pretty easy to create those looks yourself.

Looking through the photos on the website, some of the girls were holding those sheets upside down, didn’t even match their eyes at all. It’s just all over kind of hokey. Those things you see on The Shopping Network or late night tv that don’t actually work like they say they do.

OR they do work, but it’s so much easier to do it the old fashioned way. There’s a reason you’ve been using a brush and eyeshadow for 16 years – it works! Can’t blame people for trying to come up with the next big thing though.

I think if anyone wants something like this to get a certain “eye look” they should get a how-to make up book or even go onto most beauty sites that have a “get the look” option, a palette, and experiment.

I get you wouldn’t use this for everyday but I really did like it. I have kids so a lot of time I am so late getting ready to go out at night I do some boring eyeshadow and run. This was a complete cute look that only took seconds to apply and it lasted a lot longer than my other shadows.

You’ve used it so you’d know better than me!

But I feel the same way about those press-on nail colours. I think I’m just a perfectionist and if you want something done right, you’ve gotta do it yourself.

I wouldn’t use these either. Some of the combos are nice but some of them are a little off. The ones I liked I easily copied for myself. Especially when I already own similar colours there’s no reason for me to buy these.
