How dark is too dark?

Melissa George on the red carpet for Elle’s 14th annual Women in Hollywood Party. Now I like dark lips but she looks like a little girl who was playing in her mommies makeup. I think when going for dramatic dark lips you have to still be careful to flatter your skin tone. What do you think of her lipstick choice?
I think a better shade for her fair skin would have been Lancome’s new Color Fever lipstick in Ps Kiss.

Some people migh think this is too dark, but I actually kind of like it. I think what most people should consider is the whole look. Personally, she might have been able to pull this off if her hair were pulled back, sleek and her outfit color wasn’t so drab. Black would have made this look stand out and command (positive) attention.
Good point nilla cookie, a different hair do and outfit would have made a huge difference. I think the way her lips are pursed makes it look a little weird as well.
